DIY: Replace Air Intake Hose for W212 E63 AMG
Hey Folks,
As you may have noticed, after acquiring my E63 AMG I've been going through and fixing all of the little niggles on the car. After a quick search, I found that this was talked about a bunch but didn't see any DIY's (probably because it's such an easy job), but for anybody who's thinking "I've never touched the engine of my car and I don't plan to", this is even something you can likely do on your own. This video goes through popping the hood and the very quick process of swapping out the intake hose.
For all ye experts, apologies for the very simple video, but hopefully this can help someone as they're searching around in the future.

Thank you for posting! I didn't know these air inlet hoses wear out frequently; this is a first for me at 75k. I ordered the part and it seemed simple enough to replace but while i'm waiting for it to arrive, i google'd and found your video.... thank you for doing the video, i'm glad to know it's so easy to replace. Cheers!

Hey! Happy to help! Really glad to hear that the videos are useful. I'm coming from the world of old M3s and Miatas where everything's broken all the time, so there's always really good videos and tips on how to fix stuff. Given these cars seem a bit more stout so far, I'm trying to create stuff as I find there's not good content already.
Cheers,
Mike

I think this forum needs to start and add a "HOW TO" sticky. this type of HOW TO will help many folks with many DYI.
this is just another example from a member who took their time and post this DYI on how to work on our vehicles.

Bish Fabric Mender Adhesive
If you find the adhesive has failed that holds the cloth tube sleeve sections together has come apart, you can try the repair I did here:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ic-mender.html
It's held up quite well so far for a $7 fix. It's probably very similar glue to what the factory originally used.
