Water pump
Hello all
ive driven MB AMG since 2008 until now. Ranging from C36 to the E63, with an R63 that had more than 155k miles. But I’ve never had to change a water pump on any of them. Is water pump a “wear item” on MB that I have to be aware of? The reason I ask is coming from the Honda world, you’re always change the water pump when you do your timing belt. Just wondering out loud. Matter of fact, anyone here had to replace their water pump on the m157 engine yet?

Water pump bearing on my 2000 E55 failed at 155k miles. It seized though and shredded the serpantine belt. Then that belt broke off a little plastic nipple on the radiator that forced a new radiator. But to answer your question, I am not aware of ware pumps in general being a “thing” on these cars.
