2012 E63 AMG Wagon
Does anyone else here get freaked out by this?

I started following Tasos on YouTube like some of you do already. He recently posted this regarding M157 misfires being potentially caused by the high pressure fuel pumps (HPFP), an issue which he says is caused by malfunction of the low pressure pump (LPFP) and fuel filter. If the HPFPs don't receive enough fuel - especially if you have a tune - this can cause serious engine damage...he specifically mentions melting a piston. The fuel rails are supposed to have at least 100 bar of pressure under load, whereas he saw only 38 bar at one cylinder. The other issue is that the HPFPs are actually lubricated by the fuel passing through them, and so scored pistons (and stuck pumps) were the result of not enough fuel.

The car he's working on has 100k miles but I'm thinking I wouldn't wait until then...

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
I definitely don't; the vast majority of people with tuned m157's have no issues like those depicted in the videos and most of us don't keep the car behind 100k miles
