E63 first time to the track

Only had the car a couple months so I was eager for opening weekend at my local track on Sunday.

Car felt really strong up top, but pretty disappointed in its launch ability coming from my S6 with it's dual clutch 5K rpm launch control. I could pull 1.6x 60's in that thing all day long on all seasons. Race start or just loading the trans to 2K and mashing resulted in the same 1.8x 60'. Best run was the 11.3 @ 128 below. Man... if this thing would just launch harder, a 10.9 pass tune only would not be too difficult. I don't see much in the way of improving it as there is not a hint of wheel spin.

Renntech tune only, otherwise completely stock

Pretty awesome for Renntech tune only.. Low 11's at 128mph trap speed is strong! This on 93octane and Renntech "ECU+" tune?

The Trans seems to limit our launches and currently only Renntech has a very overpriced TCU tune that lowers these tq limits on the trans to launch harder..
Wish AMS or Eurocharge would try to play with this.

its an older version of Renntech’s tune, not equivalent to their current offering. The original owner had the tune done through the dealership when they bought it new in late 2014. I bought it CPO from that same dealership. Spoke with Renntech to confirm. It’s most equivalent to their R2 tune without the hardware, was advertised as at the time as 712hp and 830tq crank

yep, CPO car with Renntech tune done by the dealer. Had them note it in the CPO paperwork as I bought it out of state and they won’t be the same dealer that services it

they even had Renntech badges on the car when I took delivery lol

2nd member I've seen with such a thing. Car was CPO'ed after Renntech tune.
Won't happen nowadays (if the dealer bothers to check), but in 2014.....sure did

its not a 5 yr old car...

its a 2015 with a in service date of Dec 2015 which is a very late in service date for a 15. I buy most of my cars CPO so that is something I pay close attention to as it can make a 6-12 month difference on remaining warranty

so the car is basically 3yrs old with about 1yr remaining on original 4 yr warranty, 1yr CPO warranty, and I purchased 1 more year additional warranty. So about 3 yrs left of warranty

an original $116k car I got for $65k including 3yrs worth of warranty and a Renntech tune already on it, which Mercedes is ok with ☺️

I'm just curious if your 1 year additional warranty through Mercedes or a 3rd party insurance? Reason I'm asking is when I bought my '15 ML63, it had 7 months left on the 4yr warranty but was not CPO'd because the dealer wasn't a Mercedes dealer. Then, I wanted to buy an extended warranty but Mercedes said no because I wasn't the original purchaser. I could buy an aftermarket warranty but was quoted like $5400 for 3 years/30k miles, which I think was really high.

The additional warranty was purchased directly from Mercedes, not a 3rd party

i do believe they will only sell them to original purchaser or when being resold used at a Mercedes dealership
