Advice on ECU tune for E63 s stage 1 vs stage 2
I just picked up a 2015 E63 s with 50k miles on it
i was trying to get an idea on EUROCHARGED tune
not sure whats the difference between stage 1 and
stage 2. I will be removing my cats and get midpipes.
What would you recommend???? I dont want to have any
problems with the Engine i have no factory warranty.
I heard that i have to get downpipes and more upgrades and i might run into cooling issues with stage 2. Honestly i wanted to get stage 2 without thinking twice just because i want to get the most out of the m157 engine and not damage it at the same time. Which one would you recommend and why?
thanks. nd sorry for my English.

Stage 1 + removing cats is all you need!
Stage 2 has a higher chance of having your transmission slip!
I say try Stage 1 first and if you get bored of it, then you can always go to stage 2!
610-630 rwhp with stage 1 is not too shabby!

I believe it is 580-600rwhp with stage 1 (emphasis on the 580-590rwhp range).

Its a 4matic btw. And i have never heard about transmission slipping on this car before. I know that it has a small lag when you come to a complete stop. And thats normal with the wet clutch

With crappy winter 94 octane in Canada!
There are quite a few cars dynoing close to 630 rwhp with stage 1 Eurocharged!
Have a look at their IG!

Guys with Eurocharged tunes can chime in perhaps? Or Eurocharged themselves?

To be honest, most of our cars will hit around the 600WHP once tuned for pump gas, range give or take depending on conditions and octane.. Cat delete doesnt add much of a HP gain as many might think. But if you are trying to squeeze every oz of power, go for it.
Benz has belt so much tq limiters in the TCU, that is why there isnt much rear or diff issues, trans issues etc from the MCT 4matic drivetrains.. REnntech is the only company i know who has cut some of these tq limiters in their TCU offered tune, which is very expensive.
This platform is slowly advancing ahead, esp now with at home OBD flashing.. Datalogging is the next step. This is where true colors will be coming out for tune safety, what everyone is running for boost and what type of timing is being pushed.
I personally went with Renntech 93 octane tune, expensive yes, but always good review with a good/honest background. Will be posting datalogs before and after in the near future to give everyone a REAL #'s review in my own thread, but sneak peek, she is running strong and clean.

I'm not sure if I trust eurocharged #s. What they show on the sheet Vs. what they're advertising doesn't really make sense unless they're doing the math for roughly an 18% power loss which was correct... Back about 20 years ago...
Regardless if that's the numbers they're putting down on the dyno it's pretty impressive

2018+ e63S loses about 15% to the wheels

Also what fuel are they using with those numbers? Weistec advertises 130HP on their tune with 91octane vs eurocharged on unknown fuel at 150HP. And then what's the accuracy of that dyno? If you're running a very high octane fuel I can also ramp up timing and drive up boost and not worry about detonation vs like 91 pump gas... Alot of factors.
What I'm getting at is its an arbitrary number for various factors and you can't go wrong with any of the big name tuners on a canned tune.

Nothing can be exact. My point simply that saying drivetrain loss is 17% for eg is simplistic. It may be 10% at 6000 rpm and 1000hp vs 15% at 6000rpm and 700hp, and 35% at 1500 rpm etc. If the dynafloor is to be believed it is far from a static calculation. You can see the din PS and RadL HP, representing crank din hp amd wheel hp. Try to calculate the drivetrain loss and it will be different on each line.

here's my results after going EC Stage 1... i'm still running stock exhaust and air filters by the way...
https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...ge-1-tune.html
And in this thread I detail my results after adding a Weistec Water Meth system to my setup... the result? 104 octane results from 93 octane and water meth injection...
https://mbworld.org/forums/m275-v12-...on-kits-2.html
I'm comfortable in saying my car is 11.3 capable now with only the addition of a mild EC tune and water meth injection. I just need to improve my 60 ft times... 11.5 with a 1.9 60ft tells me I'm making power.

Thats what i was looking for somewhere around low 11s
Thinking about cutting my cats and throwing the tune on
Im just waiting for my emissions test and after i test the car
Ill definitely contact jake. The owner of Eurocharge. I would love to get 620 to 640whp but i know i will need to modify the DPs
