Update:
I went with the performance tune from AMR, and added a burble tune. It does pop and crackle at higher RPMs, no real "burble" to speak of. The performance tune does make the car feel as if it pulls much harder. I have not dyno'd.
I am currently working with Matt at AMR (who is very responsive!) as the burble tune makes the car very jerky when decelerating from 4K-3K in Sport + or M. Its as if the RPMs bounce up and down, until about 2K. Per Matt, his engineers are looking at the files and reasons for this. Id be interested to hear from anyone else with this AMR tune.
Have decided to go with the resonator delete and straight pipes with stock mufflers as others have suggested as a start. Easy affordable mod. Will see what effects this will have on getting a better sound. I will post an update.

That's pretty common on all burble tunes for every car, I noticed the same thing on a f80 m3 with a burble tune. Maybe tone down the burbles and make them less aggressive that should help.Originally Posted by DesiredNameTkn

That is what Matt's engineers did. Much better now. Ill try to post a sound clip here in a few. Last week deleted the resonator, X pipe to factory mufflers, cats left in place.
Sorry about the quality, but you'll get the idea. Second file is after delete, X Pipe. I know not everyone likes the sounds, but it works for me. I can drive it smooth in Comfort and it sounds almost stock, then go S+ or M and let it sound more aggressive. First video is AMR Performance tune with burble. 2nd is same tunes with delete.

Each their own I guess, my CLS63 sounds great and burbles on its own, the tune just seems very artificial and ricey to me.

Is he pushing the cruise control button to downshift in the clip?
Also to those running burble tunes stating the rpms blips/fluctuates around. I believe that's a process some tuners use to make this happen but is not good for the engine or trans most likely. I have found one tuner that said they do a burble tune without this sort of issue (eurocharged) but also don't specify on what method they use. I am interested in getting a burble tune also but do not want to deal with jerking throttle response and possible engine or trans problems. Does anyone know tuners that specialize in this?

Gods, please don't do a burble tune (that's what it's called). It's just so ricey and tasteless. You'll likely get sick of it pretty quickly as well.
I'll just say that the above is sage advice.
modern cars that pop and flatulent when letting off the gas are annoying.

Hey man if you like burbles get the burble tune, dont mod your car to others people liking. My car is currently tuned by Eurocharged, I have a performance tune and a burble tune that I switch between. I wouldn't say its ricey, how can a V8 BITurbo that pops sound ricey, it sounds very aggressive. That being said it is not for everyday driving as sometimes it gets a ***** much. I will post some videos up later today to give you a better idea of it.

Looking forward to your video. I am considering a tune for my CLS550 and on the fence about adding burble to my tune. If I did I would ask for it to be subtle. Just want a little more grumble. My wife’s GLE43 does it and I think it sounds awesome.
The latest burble tuned guy with his c63 coupe came on hard behind me with blipped high beams and tailgating, just to learn that the old E class wasn't limited at 155mph.
After I pulled away close to 180, I slowed to exit to another direction. I wanted to look at the driver but he was propably busy calling his tuner to increase top speed. Or he called daddy to get more money for the next stage....who knows.
It was amusing nevertheless.

What airstrip were you at that you pulled away to 180mph?Originally Posted by EckFe1
