Need help -- torque for lower front strut bolts

Hi,

I have received conflicting information regarding the torque spec for the two bolts at the bottom of each front strut that connect the strut to the hub/knuckle. I believe they are 14mm bolts with nuts. I have been told three different torque values, namely: 100Nm (approx. 74ft-lb), 120Nm (approx. 89ft-lb) and 156ft-lb. Does anybody know the correct torque spec? Last time I reinstalled the strut I torqued the bolts/nuts to 100Nm (with blue locktite) but I want to make sure that I haven't under-torqued them. This is for a 2014 E63S 4-Matic model. Thanks.

Call me ignorant, but I’ve never used a torque wrench on suspension parts. Just snug it up well and done. I literally just finished an entire front end on my buddies 996 Carrera, no torque wrench.

I think for bolts that are not holding something that is structurally important, then a "snug" tightening is fine. Bolts that are holding together something structurally is need to be torque to a certain value because they are not only holding parts together that are very heavy but are subjected to other forces such a vibrations and cornering.

@V-AMG for suspension parts I would use torque values because that is a structural component that is subjected to vibrations and cornering forces that is trying to pull it apart. Over torquing can cause a bolt to fail. Also looking up torque values shows which bolts are torque to yield or stretch bolts which are and should be tighten only once. So basically once you remove this bolt you have to buy a new one. A lot of sub-frame bolts are like this.
