Radar detectors
Since I got my mb, my escort max360 has been going off, showing k band for long stretches that seems like it's picking up from my car. I turned off blind spot monitoring and all the distronic but it still is picking up something.
Have you all noticed this? Is there a particular detector which isn't susceptible?

Nothing on our Max360c either. You may want to get on their forum and check on the best settings.

Not sure about TN cops, but here in Cali only Ka band is used. So I simply turned off the K and X on the 360. Also, pretty much the only thing my 360 is good for out here is to notify me that a cop is somewhere around (when they leave their radar on). Almost all the speeding tickets here in the South Bay Area come via LiDAR guns. This is why I installed the ALP jammers.
Now if I get on interstate 5 going to LA the radar detector does have some value. But again, only Ka band is used.
Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Never saw that out of stock thing.. maybe call them and see what is up?
Their customer service is local and great.

I prefer the arrows and once you read site and understand his logic for what info they present and why no GPS and other stuff...

To OP - the 360 and the Uniden r7 also both have arrows and are both years newer in HW and SF versus V1. And i still have two V1s in oother cars.... They are still good - but both 360 and R7 are as good (or better) at detection and have the GPS feature
Don't believe the Valentine BS about false negatives with GPS - it's lame excuse for not having enough selectivity in the radar frequency detection. I have personally gone through areas where there is a stored radar (think sign) and then had a cop sitting there - in same band - and detector picks it up. So unless the cop is so stealth and sneaky he gets a radar gun with the EXACT same frequency and signature as a fixed radar, you are OK. And it make life so much nicer with much less false alarms!
I bet a buck the next iteration of the V1 will have GPS.

Yup - BTDT and probably have paid $500+ per detector in updates over the years. For what in most cases are software updates.
Meanwhile modern detectors use a USB cable.....
Some even over WiFI while parked in the garage....
Trick question - which cars is most likely to be at the latest software level: A Tesla that gets updated over the air, or a MB where you have to go the dealer and in many case proactively ASK them to run an upgrade check?
Or, which navigation is likely to be most up to date - the system where you need to get the dealer to do a forced update, or Waze?
Same for detectors.....
You get the point. Again - I have been the biggest supporter of V1 due to the arrows and the sensitivity over the years - it WAS an awesome product. It IS still a good product, that needs a refresh from scratch.

There are definitely newer detectors than the V1, but I still run 2 of them.
I use YaV1 along with the V1 and it does everything I need including blocking out known false alarms based on GPS location.
Curious to try out the R7 sometime.
Key point is that all middle of the pack --> top of the line detectors have ALL gotten much better.

I'm not sure what's different about the SL63 compared to the E63 which causes the detectors to pick it up.

The R7 looks kind of big compared to the R3 which I got just last year. R7's sensitivity is better but still comparable to R3. Moreover, I'm sure there might still be a few bugs needing to be worked out with R7, and I'm an old dog who can't learn new tricks so I'll just stick with my R3 for now. R7's power plug position is definitely more appropriate...what were they thinking with R3's plug position?!

Took a few tried to find the right wire using a multimeter. The write-up form another source on the web was NOT correct for my car since that wire was a pulsed control wire, not a power on/off one.

For those interested - also did a ALP laser install that I did a write-up on:
