MB can CPO any car that meets baseline qualifications. As far as warranty goes, lots of info in the CPO manual so if you’re really interested, bored or an insomniac should be a good read.

Anyone know if you purchase an extended through MB and sell the car, can you get prorated money back?

This is an older version but should still generally apply. You can cancel before the ELW kicks in and get a refund. You can cancel after the warranty kicks in and get a prorated amount. You can transfer to a private owner. You cannot transfer to a car dealership.

The part you have to watch out for is the “in service date”. You would think the in service date is the date the policy applies, but I got royally screwed with a 3rd party warranty recently. Apparently in tiny print the in service date was the date of the original sale of the car to the original owner, not the second owner (me). So when my car was totaled in a wreck and I went to get my prorated refund it was half of what I expected. It makes no sense that on the very first day of the warranty it’s at 50% refund value, but that’s how it was explained and written. I read the thing 15 times and raised holy hell, but it was clear - I failed to read the contract before forking over $3k. Lesson learned, never trust anything the finance guy tried to sell you.
