2014 E63 AMG
Transmission problem or engine mount?

Recently I've had a thud type noise going from 5-6th at high revs. I thought I'd broke something in the transmission since I've had EC's E85 tune and I have been driving the car pretty hard since then.

I was then driving it yesterday and noticed it doesn't happen at lower revs so thought could it be an engine mount?

What do you guys think?

you need to clarify because the auto correct didn't work out for your typing

Have you reset the tcu?

it sounds like a clutch pack problem; or the trans needs a re adaptation

I reset it awhile ago before I got my Eurocharged tune. Maybe I'll give it another go first before I try anything else.

I've been talking with Eatcoast Euro about new motor mounts and trans mounts. I'm probably going to give them ago in the not so distant future.

So this isn't a hard trans shift?... it's a thud at the time of gearshift ... if it's a mount, why wouldn't it happen in 2-3 and 3-4 and 4-5? Torque limits are very low in those gears

Yes it could be a hard trans shift I will try resetting the trans and go from there.

It's weird sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn't, car is having trans oil and filter done next thursday and full diagnostics so will see what the problem is.

2007 e350 sport. 2010 350 4matic sport. Worlds first W212 E63R self built.
Very easy to check mounts. Pop the hood, sit inside put the car in drive hold the brake and hit the gas back to back just enough to see the motor tq up. you will have a clear view while inside of your car. If it moves visually more then what looks like 2” upwards from the left side aka driver side then the mount is bad or going bad. But you must apply enough gas to make the motor move. Do not let go of brake. Maybe put on the emergency brake while doing this for safety
