Rough Acceleration then engine light?
This morning I was driving to work and I accelerated (almost full throttle) and the car started vibrating very rough almost like a misfire and acceleration slowed as well. then the engine light came on. So I pulled over and turned the car off then back on. It all went back to normal.
What could cause this? also I dont have an obd2 scanner yet what's the best for our cars?

Definitely sounds like a misfire - did you get gas recently? Was the car at operating temp? For OBD2 scanner, i bought a cheap one for $20 on Amazon and paired it with their app and it works fine; there are more expensive and feature-rich solutions, so it depends on your needs.

Definitely sounds like a misfire - did you get gas recently? Was the car at operating temp? For OBD2 scanner, i bought a cheap one for $20 on Amazon and paired it with their app and it works fine; there are more expensive and feature-rich solutions, so it depends on your needs.
Also not sure if this is related but when the car is cold. It tends to jerk and lag when accelerating. e.g I start car in morning so a cold start I reverse (no issues no jerking or stutter) then I put the car into drive and then hit the gas a bit and there is no acceleration then suddenly it accels with a slight jerking motion this is all in first gear i believe. Then once the car warms up it seems to go away, well at least I havent noticed it while warm.

I filled up just yesterday a full tank, and which one do you have if you got a link thatd be great! But yea it was very weird and I was actually planning on getting a tune tonight, but i'm scared now that this just happened out of the blue. Maybe the tuner will have a obd2 scanner to help check it out before he tunes the car. Oh and the car wasn't really at operating temp yet, I was probably driving for 9 minutes then I accelerated a bit hard.

Could be any combination of the car being cold, maybe some bad gas, or something else. If it never happened before, I would probably attribute it to the first two. It is recommended to not apply a heavy load until the car has reached operating temps. I had a similar issue and after being more mindful of operating temp and fuel, the issue hasn’t reoccurred even after tuning.
those issues are fairly common when the car is cold, and I’m sure you can find many threads here covering other reporting the same jerkiness until the car warms up; mine is the same way.
