Can always run an E50 mix and still get the lubricating properties of the gasoline.
Even with E50 many mechanics suggested the injectors would eventually prematurely fail.. We just don't have enough data as this is a new tune. But yes anything with E85 will yield more power and with less boost.

Fail for what reason? Increased duty cycle leading to premature wear? Corrosion? Some other reason?
Yeah, quite candidly our cars weren’t built for E85. I guess we’ll see after people start adding some miles to the E85 EC tune.
Only time will tell. The increased wear I can understand to an extent, however Im not sure how much higher the injector duty cycle is with E50 vice pump gas. One would think they would have the same issue with running high octane race gas also. Im not convinced on the corrosion -- I can see it being an issue if you let the car sit with ethanol in the tank for long periods of time, thus it absorbing water, but it theoretically shouldnt be much of an issue if you drive it regularly.
Hey guys a quick message from PLM. They are processing a ton of our orders today to get shipped out. But they did send me this:
"Please let the forum members know that if they pay with a card, the bill-to and ship-to needs to be the same. If they want a different ship-to address, please use PayPal as PayPal allows different shipping addresses.
Our merchant processor does not allow us to ship to other addresses other than the billing address of the card."
Just FYI
I think that's probably me, I've emailed them back...

I've had my tune since 26th December and put 7.5k miles on it with no issues from the tune....

BTW, your CLS is gorgeous - nicely done!
I guess we'll see! And thanks!

Glad that you're enjoying it, but less than one year and 8,000 miles isn't a large enough sample size to really know.
By no means am I bashing the tune, in fact I want to switch over so I can get more power while running less PSI. I just want more info on if it will prematurely wear the hardware of the car.
PLM has now notified me that the group buy link has now closed and they are sold out. VRP ordered 20 units as well. So if anyone wants them they will be for sale via VRP.
Thank you all for your support and making this happen. Looking forward to seeing some install post.
Here is the link to the product on our website, https://www.vrpspeed.com/product/auxhe/ we have 20 in stock. Check out our other 157/278 offerings while you're over there. M278 vehicles should upgrade their intercooler pump aswell.

I received mine yesterday. Box arrived perfect and the exchanger was very well packed. HOWEVER......I'll post some pics shortly of what I received and let you guys judge for yourself. Bottom line, I'm not certain I going to run this part yet. Standby for pics.

The core is clearly smashed inward. Its bent 1/4of an inch. None of the rows are straight. Tooling marks. There's debris in itn which I can hear and it's not from the packing material. The fins speak for themselves, especially that bottom corner. There are 2 entire rows where they're all arched inward.
just checked mine again its all bad not only are the welds not all that great but there are bunch of aluminum shards coming out thats why it rattles for some.
I emailed Frank at PLM and mine Im gonna send back and I dont want anything from them. I wont accept another product from them if i had installed this on my car i would have been screwed. No way im gonna risk that.

That sucks maybe you just received a bad product I know their was at least 12 shipped so maybe others can chime in.
Given the amount of issues I showed you, and the few I didn't (places where the aluminum was clearly not cleaned prior to welding, and the cold welds clearly ground down), I highly doubt an exchange would yield a better quality product. The end tanks being off by 3/10ths of an inch ought to serve as a strong indicator.
I'm either going to return it or call it a $400 mistake. Given the amount I spend on parts in a month, I can take the loss.
I just got mine now from the FedEx guy. Here are some pictures. I am no welding expert so you guys let me know your thoughts. There was only one small area that I noticed were the fins weren't perfect but other then that it seemed to be okay and they were no metal shards in mine either.

I did already and nothing came out, I also ran water through it to make sure. Everything was fine with mine. Just call up Frank and have him exchange it out for you, if not then return for a full refund. I am sure he is willing to help.

Right off the bat, yours is bowing inwards rather than mine which is bowing outwards. The welds are okay, but I'm noticing the same issue of metal prep in some places and a few cold welds.
I highly recommend to everyone that chooses to run theirs you have this flushed prior to installing it to free up any lodged or partially lodged material.
