What's the year and mileage? Probably go to an indy, pick up the parts on FCPeuro and have the inner/outers done. Or just sandpaper off the rust and go back and see them again. FCP seems to have Lemforder for the inner and they tend to oem for many MB parts. They also carry the OE MB part for the outer but usually for original parts, you're usually better off buying them directly from an online MB dealer as they're cheaper but I guess you do get the lifetime warranty so you have to decide if that's worth it.

That is surface rust and I beg them to show the minimum diameter of the tie rods from manufacturer tolerance to say they are out of spec.
Surface rust is not a real issue it is when it PITS and eats away material...
I would go back and work it up the food chain and crawl under cars on their lot that are new and sitting there a while... I bet they have rust.

Sheesh ! that's nothing to write home about. Get a wire brush on your cordless and clean that off and spray it down w/ some WD40 or MP spray then go call my Service Advisor Brian Powell at Keeler Mercedes in Albany NY. They did my steering bolt recall.
Brian is the best in the business ! I've known him for 7 yrs and Keeler has been my MB dealer since 1999 .
