for those of you who know me on the board, you know I'm very conservative and I'm not want to jump on any fad concept or a jump in with any vendor *****-nilly without really researching and vetting the technology with lots of members on the board or people I know locally that have had the same technology implemented.
I bought my 2014 Mercedes Benz E 63 type S brand new in 2014 with 8 miles on it and I was very reluctant to tune it until I was into the extended warranty for personal reasons, and thanks to great members on this board like Vrodman and jvakos I found the courage to tune my car with AMS and I'm enjoying my tune extensively after having replaced my coil packs because I had to deal with some check engine lights and misfires. The car makes amazing power after the ECU tune and after I read about the TCU tune extensively I wanted to go ahead and move forward on this.
Fortunately I was able to meet up with the group that did the Chicago session and I got the TCU tune in once I extensively tested it out I realized that my day-to-day driving was significantly improve. The 0 to 60 before the TCU tune and with the AMS tune was still about 3.5 seconds up to 4.0 seconds. Now with the TCU tune you'll see my dragon which shows that I'm getting 3.0 seconds and that's with complete four wheel squeal for nearly 3/4 of the first gear RPM band, I need better tires in most of my friends that have this TCU tune now we're getting 2.6 seconds 0 to 60. I expect my quarter mile to be about 10.8 at about 129 mph
this is on stock internals
Also I'll be giving you better drag the results when I get better tires and when I get better road conditions, and also know that the Customer Service from Eurocharged has been nothing less than stellar compared to the people at other tuning shops. I'll leave it at that
Flame away.

I believe you've said in separate posts that there is no difference in off-throttle lag, but off launch lag has improved. Is that the case?
correct; off throttle lag same and this was best attenuated by the AMS tune and then my sprint booster on GREEN. The launch lag is GONE GONE GONE
guys are cutting 1.5-1.6 60fts now and they have good tires. My goal is 2.8/10.7 @ 130mph once I get my e30 EC tune on my third ecu and mated to this tcu tune AND good tires and better launch technique

Excellent review and commentary!!! Love the sprint booster reference as well.
This TCU tune is night and day difference and kudos to AMS on their tune!!
Hell yeah man I love the tcu - I was going to get a w213 2020 or 2021 and now I'm keeping this W212amg for a few more years.
im getting my third ecu to be programmed by Dave at EC ATX to be their e30 tune which is crazy fast... ive seen savage on this forum and his e30 and tcu ran 2.7/10.7 on stock internals and Other member ran 2.7/10.7 on ams and tcu tune
also the shifting routinely is smooth as silk for me and if anything shifting quality improved. No harsh shifts up or down.
jeebus!

Interested in hearing a bit more on that point. You find the "normal" shifting to be smoother? Do you know if the tune actually tries to accomplish that or if that's a side effect of resetting shift parameters etc with the tune installation?

so in c mode - tcu tune does nothing different
in s mode there is some improvement
in s+ mode which was the most "rough" at times it is much smoother. They state it holds throttle on during shifts and increase oil line pressure but apart from these details I don't know "proprietary" facts ....
also manual shifting is noticeably more usable
driving the car casually in S mode as I always do for my daily commute, everything feels about the same. I am more including to drive in S+ mode now however because it is smoother
ive had the tcu tune for over 250 miles and almost a month so any adaptation has most likely taken place and the benefits are still apparent to me in real time feel of the power delivery etc

What’s a good way to check if the motor mounts should be changed? I don’t have to rough idle or anything noticeable But would like to look under the car and see
my mounts are holding up pretty well, not sure how old they are as I've had the car only 1.5yrs. I've got at least 50 passes on them so far, but when they fail, I'll be going with the ECE mounts

I'm cutting those 60' times with bald rear stock pirellis! Looool
The TCU has transformed the car when it comes to launching and shifting!
Like you mentioned, the shifting in S+ is so smooth!
If 10.4-10.7 can be achieved in 2300 DA, then imagine what lower DA and good track prep will get you!

I have a 2015 e63 and mine were replaced by the dealer at 28k miles about 2 years ago (all stock) because they were visibly leaking. Had a very slight vibration at idle and the MB master tech who's serviced my cars for years just did a visual inspection and made the case to replace them.
