Hi man. No gains in 550hv 850nm (crank) powerlevel. I did Dragy my car several times, but just 0-100km/h times then. And I didn't do dynoruns. M278 cls shooting brake.

My cars Best Dragy 1/4 mile 11,87s and 0-100km/h 4,16s.

I don't think that blackboost either would show any benefits in such low power level. But its a different story when car is with M157 turbos, exhaust, ethanol blends. Then the benefit for blackboost looks like to be very very big. And maybe then the BMC and UPD also can show some benefits.

We are working on a setup for the SL63 M157 and all M157 SUV's. I have no time line yet unfortunately.

Hello to all members,

first of all I would like to thank the hole community. From watching our videos, to people who are asking questions, to get a better understanding and everyone who purchased a product from us.

I want inform all of you that we are working on a solution for the OEM tubes connected from the bumper to the intakes. (OEM and our Intake system)

We will have a solution for it soon available. Whoever thinks of getting something and is not sure if he should pull the trigger and purchase it, give us a little bit more time, you wont regret it.

I would also like to thank Jose @boostedbenz.com for his great work and representing us in USA / Canada.

Sorry if already asked but if the goal was to maintain the lowest intake air temps, and is why the enclosure seals to the hood, why not just build a fully enclosed housing? What benefits are in the open housing aside from esthetics?

Thanks!

My guess is that the BB enclosure was built around the largest possible TW conical filter. This means open enclosure with the filter touching the hood liner. The other consideration, I am sure, is the realization that the positive pressure from the ram effect in motion effectively cancels the concern for ambient (warm) engine compartment air. So the free-floating and air leaking boxes are technically acceptable in motion. One other side-effect of open box may be a better dyno when stationary with hood open.

Well there is no difference having an full enclosed box or one as we are doing it sealing it against the hood. if you want more information feel free to contact me directly I dont mind to explain it.

I heard a rumor that a certain individual running a AMS race gas tune gained a ridiculous 0.4 seconds on a quarter mile run after installing the black boost intake without any other changes to his already tuned car... I leave it to him to post his pre/post times...

BRUTUS - ha I heard the same rumor

For anyone interested - below are Dragy results from a fellow amateur enthusiast (zero affiliation to any of these vendors mentioned) with a E63S / W212 / AWD sedan car who's approach was to try and keep the car *stock* as much as possible while safely trying to optimize performance. The setup started with an AMS 100 octane custom dyno tune (thx Jake!), then EC ATX TCU tune (thx Dave!) and final piece of the puzzle and only hardware bolt on was the Blackboost intakes (thx Jose!) so you understand what's been done (stock exhaust, stock rims, stock fueling).

Dragy Based Results:
- before with stock intake: 0 to 60 = 2.95 sec | 1/8 mile = 6.97 sec @ 102.28 mph | 1/4 mile = 10.77 sec @ 129.21 mph | 60 to 130 mph = 7.14 sec | peak boost 20.x PSI
- after with Blackboost intakes : 0 to 60 = 2.75 sec | 1/8 mile = 6.75 sec @ 106.46 mph | 1/4 mile = 10.42 sec @ 132.09 mph | 60 to 130 mph = 6.79 sec | peak boost 22.x PSI

It took the car about a month or so to fully adapt to the Blackboost intakes and the performance continued to improve over that time and the car was **not retuned** after the BB intakes went on

It's amazing how the significantly better air flow from the Blackboost intakes allowed the stock turbos to breath better up top which was evident by seeing the boost increase to 22.x PSI when previously it was never higher than 20.x PSI on the stock intake and clearly these intakes are helping create create more power up top. Again, the car is essentially fully stock hardware (stock exhaust, stock rims, stock fueling) aside from the Blackboost intakes as the only bolt on hardware which that intake alone resulted in nearly .4 sec reduction in 1/4 mile time, .25 sec reduction in 1/8th time, .4 reduction in 60-130 time and .20 reduction in 0-60 time which is pretty impressive for those who are looking for a very good bang for the buck mod.

See below for the Dragy results --- again, not sharing this info for any other purposes aside from maybe it helps others learn and make more informed decisions about how they want to go about modifying their E63/M157 !!!

And also to share that customer service, responsiveness and follow up from Jose at Blackboost was simply amazing! Being an amateur I got stuck trying to install them and within 15 mins of an email he got back to me and we sorted out what i was doing wrong on the install. He followed up with me for several weeks after asking if I was happy with the product which was really impressive post-sale support.

I had issues with fitment on my cls550 vrp aluminum intake pipes. The pipes didn’t fit right I bought different sleeves to get them to stay on property ended up going back to the stock ones because they kept disconnecting. I installed after new motor mounts tee installed. Needless to say I wasted money
