+90C (+194F) is the optimal engine temp. Few degrees fluctuation, or even a short rise is okay. Your temp is normal.

Maybe normal for Comfort. I’m always whipping around in S+ which in my car means 217-222 temps. Last 2 miles home I’ll drop to S to get that idle down and then sit in the driveway until at least back down to 215-217.

Same here and whenever I’ve driven the car hard for a period I typically do 10 minute chill highway cruise in C mode to bring down all the fluid temps and cool off the car a bit before parking and not have all that excessive heat when it’s sitting. I even open the hood fully to help it cool down . Yes that’s totally babying it but that’s just me....

Hood open = guilty. I think part of it is instinct, you pay this much for a car you want it to last longer than it takes to pay it off!

Don't have to do it but why let the heat cook the engine components especially the rubber hoses... It takes at least 2 -3 hours if not more for temp to come down, still not touchable though ... I am guilty of doing it myself too, why not.

Lol opening the hood...I do that sometimes too. My wife will walk out and be like...what's wrong with your car...hahaha.

Nothing, just letting her cool down a bit and in my mind I hope it preserves some of the parts that expand/contract from so much heat by at least a few weeks.

ha you guys are awesome and glad to hear others baby their car like me with the raising the hood to help cool down the motor!!! Opening the hood seems to cool off the engine bay in about 30-45 mins if I drive it hard and park vs if I keep the hood closed it literally takes like 2-3 hours for the motor to be cool to the touch. Less heat = happy motor
