Nice to see my consistent launches are noticed bro! I once tried explaining my technique in detail somewhere else AFTER BEING ASKED and I was told I offered nothing new. 🤷♂️Originally Posted by MBHR

Vrodman - impressive. I recall us talking way back in the day around how you were going to be a bit restrained this time around. Yeah, that worked out well!....

So, don't you live in CA? How do you get a car with new headers and no cats through inspection? Friendly local garage? Or do you register your cars in one of the friendly states (lek FL or Montana)?

I'm running an AMS Alpha performance tune on my 2016 CLS63S. Today the car started misfiring again at WOT and going into limp mode. I think I got a bad batch of Chevron gas or maybe it was because the tank was around 1/4 full when it started acting up. So weird how it just happened suddenly. It ran like a bat out of hell all the way to Carmel today, but on the way home as fuel level was getting low, it starting throwing random misfires and going into limp mode. I had to pull off and shutdown/start the car a few times to clear it up, but the issue just kept coming back. Frustrating as it hasn't done this in a quite a while and I was playing with an M4 on the highway when it went into limp mode and I just had to let off and take the next freeway exit.
I've had random cylinder misfires/limp mode/CEL with this AMS Alpha tune since I got it. As much as I love the tune, I'm growing tired of this issue and thinking of having AMS flash it back to stock and having Eurocharged do their stage 2 tune matched with their TCU tune. I'm running fresh OEM Bosch plugs gapped to .022 and mixing 91 and 101 unleaded to keep things safe. That Black Boost intake looks pretty bad ***, I might pull the trigger on that setup as well. You guys with Eurocharged tunes, are you using the MyGenius handheld to flash your cars between stock and tuned flashes or sending ECU to Eurocharged like AMS does it? California is about to start checking for reflashed ECUs for SMOG checks, so I need to be able to quickly flash back to stock without shipping my ECU in the mail every time I need dealer service or SMOG.
Any input on AMS vs. Eurocharged tunes would be appreciated. I know the car still won't break the tires loose after Eurocharged reflashed the TCU...something about the torque limiters in the AMS ECU tune not allowing the Eurocharged TCU tune to do it's thing? That's why I'm thinking of switching to Eurocharged ECU tune as their ECU and TCU tunes are proven to work well together and extract maximum performance.
Such fun cars, but they are temperamental and susceptible to heat soak when driven hard like any turbo vehicle. I still don't understand why AMG didn't put any air ducts on the hood on this car to help extract hot air.

My issue was simply low fuel in the tank. I filled up with fresh 91 mixed with 5 gallons of 101 and the car runs like a bat out of hell again. Couldn't reproduce any issues no matter how hard I beat on it today.
Lesson learned = don't let your AMG get below 1/4 tank of fuel. Glad that's all it was :-)

As Peter said… try fresh coil packs from FCP euro (they are OEM Beru)since they have a lifetime replacement warranty. The number one and five coils are right next to the turbo chargers and take a lot of heat. Originally Posted by PeterUbers
