Made quick video about ceramic coating the e63

I've used gtechniq the last few times and have been quite pleased. But I'm not partial to any brand.
any other consumer level ones you guys have personally used?
Carpro, gyeon etc?

i've used Armor Shield on my W218 and my wife's M4. interestingly....the Armor Shield that i used on her M4, in 2018, was MUCH harder to apply than the product that i used on my CLS in 2019. it left high spots that i had to buff out and reapply. but the 'new' stuff went on like butter. i've CQuartz in the past on previous cars but I cant justify the premium over Armor Shield. the most important part...obviously....is prep. but once you get it dialed in, its awesome. water still beads years after application....

Will watch this during the weekend. Getting PPF on the E63 next week, but apparently you are supposed to ceramic coat PPF as well!

Correct, and you are NOT suppose to apply ppf over ceramic since it will not bond properly to the paint. I had my entire car ceramic coated using armor shield and i love it. Did a full 2 step paint correction before it tho(black car problems). Had to remember that entire front end doesn't get coated due to ppf being applied a few days after. Once i came home, and car cooled down, i applied the ceramic over the film.

I had my black 2015 E63-S coated with CarPro CQuartz by a professional installer last summer. I don't think it is available retail.

It's held up real well and I can do my own maintenance on it using their Reload product.

yeah, cquartz 3.0 UK is there consumer version of the professional just like crystal serum light is the consumer version of gtechniq ultra.
I believe you have to actually get trained by a company rep to get an accreditation before they will sell it to you. Probably a good thing, I can imagine the damage some one can do if they applied it wrong haha.
I've heard 3.0 UK and Crystal serum light are still very very good, with approximately 80% of the hardness of the pro and ultra line

I mentioned in the video, there are some "ceramic" products, particularly some that seem to be sponsoring a lot of YouTubers, that you can basically wipe on in huge sections or the entire car and then wipe off... I can't imagine that those are actually doing anything for protection. It's kind of like a lot of companies are just throwing the name ceramic on their product from marketing only.

As for PPF, yeah you definitely don't want to apply PPF over ceramic, you'll probably have adhesion issues. But you definitely can apply ceramic to PPF

I understand that mp4 is already a dead format, but it is still the most convenient and popular format. Therefore, I prefer to use this format. As a result, I decided to convert files of a different format to mp4. I found a great guide to converting files to mp4 in this article.
It takes much less time and free memory. The choice is yours. I hope, I could help you.
