Question Heated Front Seats Function ?

Hi everyone I have recently purchased a W212 2014 E63S and have a query on how the front heated seats are meant to function. Both the driver and passenger seat heaters when activated only heat the side leg cushions and not the area directly under your butt. The heated back support area works fine. Is this normal or not? I have had two previous Mercs with heated seats and the seat cushion has always expelled heat. Thanks in advance for any advice you may offer.

As you can see, the heating elements cover large surface. Parts [100] and [105] on the EPC diagram. Hope this helps.

Hi Maxusa,
May I enquire where you sourced the parts diagram and for what particular year and model ? The attached parts diagram I can access does not show the component 105 which would appear to be the heater pad for the seat cushion. Can other forum members offer their
opinions whether this portion of the seat is in fact heated or not.

I agree about the confusion on the heater element parts. The diagram I posted comes from Mercedes EPC version: 2.5.4.2. Part [105] lists 9 part numbers depending on the trim package, fabric vs. microfiber vs. imitation leather vs. leather. The funny part is when I apply any E63 VIN, very many parts including all heater elements grey out. However, my front seats do have heating, and the bottom cushion warms up uniformly including the center area. I am afraid I cannot help more than this. Perhaps, someone can get to the bottom of it.

Hey Guys,
I would not have thought that this was such a difficult question to answer or for the forum members to offer their own personal experience on how the heating function is meant to work. More than happy to hear your comments.

What they're all indicating is that yours is not operating normally. I have same vehicle and the seat area heats. If you're a DIYer, let me know if you want WIS instructions to dig into the seat. I need VIN to assure proper procedures are sent to you.

Regards,

Joe
