RennTech R1 Package - Real world feedback, please.
Hello! I have a 2014 E63-S that I am looking to upgrade my ability to turn gas into thunder and speed, and have landed on the RennTech R1 package as likely adequate to do that. I considered Weistec, but have been encountering people (including a Weistec DEALER) who said that Weistec customer service has gone down hill, and their tunes are not consistently producing the claimed power (* that is what the Weistec dealer told me, I have no opinion either way, just stating what I was told). So, having had RennTech on my CLK63 Black Series, I have some experience there. But my previous tuned AMGs were all naturally aspirated, so modding a twin turbo one is new ground for me. Bottom line, and I did try to search before with no luck, who on here actually has a W212 with the RennTech R1 package, or the ECU tune if nothing else, and what do you think of it? Would you buy it again? Are you happy with the gains? Any issues?
I drive my cars a lot, and take them on 600 mile a day road trips, so reliability is key. I have no time to risk that. I appreciate any feedback you have, or if I am missing something, I am open to new ideas.
Thank you, and happy driving.

My E63 was tuned by RennTech and Its a BEAST! I have nothing but positive and more positive "way to go" The car is like night and day and be careful what you ask for... All I can say is you will have nothing but Smiles on your face and if you're not careful TICKETS.

2016 E63 S AMG Wagon
I have the RennTech HHT. Only other mod is the spacer on the airbox. I like being able to easily reload the stock tune if high-octane isn't available or I'm just droning along on a family trip. I don't thrash the wagon, just wanted to wake it up...and BOY this tune does it.

Do any of you have a slight burble tune with it? Last I checked a year ago they the burble wasn’t available along with the tune.

I have it on my 2013 E63. It's a blast to drive, the install was very easy, no need to remove oil lines or remove the serpentine belt. The blow off valve is silent under normal driving. It only really makes noise when you jump on it and let off quickly. The car is fast and fun to drive. I had the P30 option before so I didn't get the huge gains versus the non P30 car but still it a great addition.

just got my new to me 16’ E63S with 63k miles on it and sent it straight to Renntech for their R1 package as well as a host of suspension and maintenance items, downpipes and their mufflers. The car is an absolute ROCKET. This is my 10th or 11th car that I’ve sent to Renntech in the last 15 years and every time I get a car back I just am so blown away by how seamless the packages are. They’re truly OEM+. I couldn’t be happier and paired with their downpipes and mufflers, the sound is unreal.

it’s fast and fun to drive. I haven’t put a dragy in it yet. I don’t take it that serious. It’s a blast to drive and I’m super happy with it. I’ve been a Renntech customer for 15+ years and I love the quality and have a good relationship with them. I’ll buy a dragy and see what it does for you all the euro charged guys that want to have superiority. It’s a fun car that I paid 47k for to throw my kids in. I wanted something cheaper than my GT roadster and more useful than my 991. The OP asked for real world feedback on the R1 kit, NOT if anyone has a Eurocharged tune and if it’s faster.

Good to hear that. Did they just download the file or dyno tune it? I have been very serious abou the Rt but think i am going to give Autobahn a try. I don;t drive the wagen much and just want to have a little bit more oomph so I think I be happy with their conservative tune.

they just flashed their R1 tune with the HHT. They’ve dyno tuned a few cars for me but for this I wasn’t too concerned with it. The car runs flawless and the sound is awesome. This is my second w212 E63S and the R1 tune Vs their standard tune (93 and R1 are two separate files) has a ton more low end.

a Eurocharged tune and if it’s faster.
if we only stuck to the OP questions then this would be a pretty dull forum, it's awesome to see where these convos go so long as people are not (often) being a$$holes and knocking each other. Not sure by "superiority" comment. The guy said he was really new to forced induction engines so when do you think itd be appropriate to tell him about different companies that tune these engines that have a lot of experience?
glad you're happy, let us know when you have real world data it'll be told to add to the data pool!

nobody said anything about needing superiority. Really? We all seek transparency and reliable data to determine what seems best gfor us individually. I was in no way knocking RT. It was an innocent and honest question. I personally have no data on RT tunes.
happy for you that you are happy with RT

I did the Intermediate tune with a burble a yr ago bc racecar- had to ask for it in email, they'll do it (even tho it wasnt "offered"). But maybe it's an R1 limitation for them.

ok well got my dragy last night and when I went for coffee this am I gave it a shot. This is the first time I’ve used RS on this car and didn’t have a ton of room. I’m sure once it gets cooler here it will get quicker but here my 0-60!
