Parked suspension air pump frequency?
'14 facelift E63S wagon W212. When I park the car, I frequently come outside to hear the suspension air pump running. It's relatively brief (3-5 min), but is that normal? There's no letdown of suspension height that I notice regardless of how long it's parked.
I did purchase a new filter for the air pump, but haven't installed it yet.
The system seems to work fine in all modes.

I've wondered the same thing before...my 2016 wagon is huffing and puffing way after I've parked her. I feel like she's trying to entice me to jump in and drive her more. lol.

On shutdown, mine bleeds air and drops to a resting height. It's generally one long sequence.
With extreme hot temps, I've heard additional brief burps. I'm assuming stationary heat, in my miserable garage, caused additional expansion that pushes the car above its designated rest height, so it adjusts. Again, just a guess.
Good reason to have the second battery on a tender.

Mine only does it initially when i park it, and thats a brief(10 secs to deflate, if that) but i always drive it in sports mode suspension since the wheel gap from being in comfort mode makes me feel like im leaning forward
These cars are known to be some of the nosiest air suspension cars on the market. Always huffing and puffing

I have a 2013 E63 Sedan. I spend a lot of time on my garage working on projects so I'm very familiar with the auto leveling air suspension noises. Mine takes several minutes to get settled when parked, then makes minor adjustments periodically. I also notice that whenever anyone opens the door to the garage it immediately begins adjusting, sometimes for several minutes. Having said that, these adjustments have not hurt the battery, which is the original. All good.
