any experience/help with CA smog

so the 2014 e63 wagon is finally up for smog in CA since my move to out of state was delayed and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new system. I had some interesting ECU issues (replaced, had to be recoded, then replaced again) and am modified so I seriously doubt my checksums will fly. Anyone here have any pointers or assistance available for passing with the new system?

pretty much if you have anything other than a stage 1 tune you pretty much just need to go back to stock

If your car is stock you won't have a problem passing.

Even with the ECU being replaced you'll be fine. You can check if the monitors are ready yourself.

I find myself with a similar dilemma as you. My pulley ECU tuned S55 is due for emissions smog this month, would rather like to avoid the inconvenience of reverting to a stock pulley and tune - but this maybe my only option I suppose. In the past my tuned car passed like a champ.
I reached out to a local MB tuner and he stated, his clients didn't have any issues passing smog with his tune. Two Southern Cal MB shops catering to modified cars and also have worked on my car - both said they haven't had any clients reporting failed smog. One shop even recommended a smog place were his customers go to. I'm conflicted here.

It would be nice to hear from someone who actually had their car failed due to this issue. And what were the outcome, sent to a referee? Feel free to chime in with your experiences.

I am standing by for update on this as well. Really want to upgrade exhaust but worried about smog certification. I'm in bay area so if anyone has a plug please hook me up :-)

Wanted to share an update of my emission test experience with the members of this forum. Yesterday, I stopped by my MB indy shop to check the readiness monitors before heading to get the smog done - everything checked OK. He telephones the smog shop to alert that I'm on my way which is about a block nearby. Took a mere 15 minutes if that - left there a happier individual. Passed! Granted my S55 has the Race IQ Stage 2 tune with full stock exhaust. During the payment transaction I did pose the question to the smog tech/owner, if he's come across failed emissions due to the imposed ECU law. He replies with a yes, most recent recollection a highly modified tuned Hellcat.
