Lower control arm replacement
Getting the squeak on front driver so going to swap it before it goes. I saw this on rockauto https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=7286404&cc=3307171&pt=10401 just trying to see if anyone's used this part or brand - it's 1/3 the price of oem but if it's only 1/3 the quantity I'll just snag the oem.

Buy from fcp euro or ecs. I wouldn't do rockauto parts for a amg vehicle
guess ill order up 2 because the other side is likely going on its own accord given the way they fail

I'm on my 3rd driver front control arm and only have 45k miles on my 2015 E63.....

OP should jump on this. FCP supposedly does lifetime replacements on parts.
Are AMG cars equipped with some fancy metal and rubber control arms that can't be sourced from anywhere else in the world -- only FCP and ECS?
Not really, just saying fcp parts carry a lifetime warranty, and the fact that people are replacing them every 20-30k, would benefit them for free replacements
No Issues bushing perfectly centered. I have change that area 4x the other 3x were all dealers arms. The last arm lasted 8k. I was thinking of slipping the bushing back in and tac weld, but after seeing the rockauto looking as it did not more dealer arm if I need one in the future.
BTW I installed that same arm. Very easy installation. Hardest if to remove the pan and jack the car.

The arm move off center from the bushing. I cant remember if the arm moves forward or rear of the bushing once installed. my bush and ball joint are like new. I have two MB arm that I will have the bush centered and then it welded to the arm if possible.
I had the same problem, After reading how they keep failing I tested a quick fix. I used a vice to recenter the bushing then screwed 4 short self taping sheet metal screws at 12,3,6,9 pm position, not through the whole arm, just through the light gauge split steel outer bushing casing (I read how some one else used a welder and ran a bead, but I don't have one) I figured worse case it would shear off the heads of the screws and I'd replace it then...12 months later and it has not moved at all.
I was chasing a creaking/cracking sound on the driver side while turning at low speeds and found my problem. Pass side is fine. Looks like the whole lower arm needs to be replaced since the bushing is not sold separately? Is this a simple swap with hand tools? Will I need an alignment after replacing the lower arm?

yes alignment is recommended
yes hand tools and simple swap; if you keep steering straight theoretically can avoid alignment but would just get lifetime alignment at Firestone

it’s definitely a DIY as I just did this a couple months ago thanks to a great video by Kenny D at exotic car DIY, his YouTube channel. You can try to get a press and push the bearing back into the control arm and welded in place which is something Kenny shows in the video
