Oil temp sensor location /replacement

So noticed today I lost oil temp reading on my cluster. No fans running or anything. Everything seems fine. Anyone have a idea where this sensor is located? It's not the one on the oil pan I'm assuming? 2014 e63 with 22,000 miles

If I remember correctly, I saw someone post something similar a month or two ago (long time lurker) and it was the one on the oil pan.

I did see that thread. But I was under the impression that the one on the oil pan is a Level sensor, but that wouldn't make sense since we have a actual dip stick and not a digital read out.

So I had a buddy bring his expensive scanner and looks like it's the oil pan sensor that reads temp and digital oil level. We cleared the code for now to see if it comes back since car has been sitting since November. So far it's been working fine.

I did look in the WIS and it did seem that the level sensor and the temperature sensor are in the same unit at the bottom of the oil pan. I looked for a M157 engine in a CL 63 but should be the same for any M157 engine. I would check connections before I replaced anything. Hope it helps.

Just ran into this issue today and I did the reset and it is good now. Was wondering where you got the new unit from since I couldn't find it on FCPeuro.

Dealer. Mercedes of Naperville in Illinois has the best online prices. Mines still sitting in the box, unused. Haven't had a issue since.

Awesome thank you! I will grab one from them just in case something does happen and I'm not stuck waiting for one. Just completed a 1000 mile round trip since I cleared it and it has had no issues so we will see.
