From somewhat simple to rage-inducing.
First time doing plugs on this car, so was in for a treat. Read several threads about helpful tips and tricks. All very useful (especially the wire around the spark plug tool).
However, the coilpacks (which are frustratingly difficult) were the biggest PITA. One of the coilpacks decided to shatter the plastic covering inside the spark tube... and when rage occurred, the actual insulation of the coilpack tore -- both of which remained inside the spark plug tube.
Fun. FUUUUUUUUU-n.
Thankfully, this was on the front, left side cylinder where I plenty of space to spend hours fishing out little bits of plastic and rubber from the tube with a pair of ultra-thin needle nose pliers.
Then I got tired of that **** and welded a plug hole saw onto a bolt, and proceeded to cut away all of that junk around the plug, so I could push the spark plug socket on. I definitely added some grease to the coil packs before putting them back on.
That is not the actual coilpack plastic cover that had to be cut away... that's from ANOTHER coilpack... which needs replacing.
Basically drilled a hole in a big bolt, slide the shaft of the plug hole saw into it, drilled another hole perpendicular to the bolt... spot welded it together. Coil-pack-rubber-plastic-cutter-away-thingie.
So, for you higher mileage folks, be prepared to have some difficulties.
