long story, my first ‘12 E63 hit 150k miles and all the plastic fittings just fail. The car was previously owned in Texas and came with all the service records. My current and second ‘12 is at 120K miles and everything is fine. Should I start worry or just fix things as they break? Thank you for your contribution
Wish I could help you with your question. Gut instinct is to keep up to date with maintenance as much as possible and replace things if there is sign of too much wear. Best of luck, and please keep us updated.
That's awesome that you are at 150k miles! Mine is climbing, but still more than 100k behind you.
I also wonder what the highest mileage is. I have seen a fair amount of M157 for sale over 100k miles, but I can't recall any over 200k miles.
Mileage on my 2005 W211 E320 CDI slowed somewhat due to Covid-19 social restrictions and overall travel limited.
Mileage last Dec 2020: 312,313
Miles a/o Apr 2022: 350,218
I have had no new problems with this one of my two 2005 E320 CDIs; however, I am very disappointed due to a dime size chip on the hood just in front of the hood ornament (boo hoo). Also, the rubber piece under the windshield has cracked all along from side to side... about 4" sections. Neither of the two issues have yet been fixed but I have purchased a third party 11' long replacement rubber strip. Other than that, the car goes to the dealership for every service period indicated on the dash display. Oh, I forgot, I had a leak from the transmission pan which I promptly took back to the dealership. In their unusual exceptional fashion, it was repaired, and while Roger was at it, he did all the maintenance that could be done on the transmission. Now the car looks and runs as good as new. I think it is better than new! I hope to see half a million miles before, well, before ever.
For my input to the question, I am 75 years old and a Vietnam vet, from 1966 to 1968, permanently and totally combat disabled but physically functionally able. Love to drive my Mercedes. Wife loves hers too (also 2005 E320 CDI) but it only has 121,421 miles. They are almost a matched pair except for color. Mine with the miles is flint gray with charcoal interior, Hers is pewter, no chip or other exterior defects, with white interior.
I have pics of both cars somewhere in MBWorld. I will try to load new pics but they will be the same as the old ones so I am not in a hurry.
That's all I have for now.
PS - Not a Newbie. Have been a member since 2011. Flint Gray-foreground (350,218 miles), Pewter- rear (about 124k miles). Cars are alike but for color and entertainment e.g. Pewter has Nav and 6 disc changer in rear.
Both are 2005 E320 CGI with OEM SiriusXM.

My wife had a 2006 CLK350 and put 200k miles over 10 years and the biggest problem we had was the leaking oil plugs on the heads everything else on the car held up really well.
and honestly it wasn't maintained as close to it should have been.

Lucky. I just hit 50k miles and I'm about to hit $10k in repairs since owned.
I have 188,xxx miles on my 2010 E63. Replaced fuel injectors, plugs, cam adjuster plates, TCM, and a few other minor things. Phenomenal car. Sadly i don't drive it much anymore. I have owned it for 6 years, almost 7, and was driving it ~25k mi a year for the first ~two years? I am a firm believer that well maintained cars that get properly exercised hold up much better than low mile cars shoved into garages on trickle chargers
Agree that well maintained cars that are driven seem to do well. My problem putting on mileage is that it is split between 3 vehicles. The one with the highest mileage is 95% highway miles and only has 100k miles.
Unfortunately I mainly drive my E63s in the winter, and it is sitting at 31k miles right now. I love driving it though
