Why I now back my car into it's parking spot

For me, my e63 wagon's looks were always a shortcoming. Who could love that long rear overhang, the smallish rear wheel openings that look bad even with 19" wheels stuffed into them, the minivan trunk hatch....I backed into my parking spot recently to unload a wagon full of lumber and left it that way overnight...I found myself peaking at it over and over again out the window and thought it looked sort of badass...I'm falling in love again after 3 years and about 8 or 9 bent wheels and/or sidewall bubbles. I've always been superficial, I loved the look of my 911 and the mint e39 M-5 I sold to make way for this car but this cars all wheel drive (I have dedicated snow wheels with snow tires), it's surprising turn in,great tossability with it's shortish wheelbase (for a 4600+ lb car that is) and it's always pleasurable exhaust note and awesome power (once the boost builds) make this possibly my favorite car of all time, If it only had the superchargers "instant on" power of my old cls55amg I'd be 100% in....

This perfectly sums up my ownership experience. The wheels are just consumables like oil filters and brake pads when you DD one of these. I buy 5 rims to start and always have a spare on hand. LOL.

After the first 2 sidewall bubbles I started buying used tires with like 7 or 8/32nd's left off ebay for under 100.00 delivered. If I remember, I often look for good deals on the tire size I need and stock up. I know the sidewall will always be damaged before the tread wears out... I have one snow tire extra ready for the first pothole of winter

I have always backed in to spots. Mostly because I don't want to damage the front lip on whatever car I'm driving. LOL

But, it does have the added benefit of what you're talking about - great for the look back!

OP, did you also try non run-flats, might help with preventing bubbling and wheel bending and also help with ride comfort, just imo though...

I dunno. I have always taken the run flats off of my cars for a better ride. While it is better where I live now, when I was in the Chicago area pot hole slalom was a thing..but hey, paying some of the highest taxes in the country I got the roads...I....expected????

I know right, sad but logic doesn't seem so logically anymore when it comes to these things : (
