Deal is officially dead.
Reserve was $42k.
Highest bidder went to $38k.
I think I will start selling off the mods and relist it locally. This time not focus that it has a new engine. Even though I think that is a plus, it seems to scare normal people away.

C&B is in the middle of both sides negotiating on a no sale. C&B will go back and forth forever trying to make a deal until one side says they are done or stops responding. We got up to $38k in the private back and forth with C&B. They do not disclose the reserve at any time.

This is EXACTLY how I though it would go. Cars and bids too. And I was OK taking $45-50 no problem. $42-45, eh, I could get past it and forget. But 38? No way.

But this is what happens when you are trying to sell a modded car to people who know cars and mods. NO one wants to pay for mods... and if they do... they won't pay anything close to what you spent on them. The dream is to buy a modded car at a discount. That's why I had suggested returning to stock and selling mods. and car (as stock) separately.

Scammed myself when I knew better, was told so, and hoped for a different outcome.
Ah the school of hard knocks returns once again
I listed it locally and my plan is to slowly remove the mods as time drags on.

Might be a good thing that the W212 isn't sold yet, I mean now you have a backup car that your new W213 is in the shop for the transmission issue. It is good to have backups, I think? Maybe once the issue with the new car gets resolved, this car immediately finds a buyer? It is just having your back even though you want to get rid of it, it cherishes the friendship it has with you... just a guess.

I would definitely not count a stock part like CCBs as a mod when selling. Remove everything that isn't OEM. Those CCBs are a great selling point.
Confused because I thought you bought your wagon with CCBs. I see them listed on your window sticker for $13,750...

They squeal after some time slow speeds if I only drive like grandma. If I get on them hard they are ok again even at slow speeds. It takes a couple/few weeks of too-light braking to start squealing.

My new wagon has CCB
The 2016 came with red Irons
I paid to upgrade them
I’ve had quite a few offers on my car that are close enough but not enough - if I sell the CCB I can pretty much take the next offer. Really no one is offering more because of them. And in the lower price bracket the 2016 is selling I’m convinced people are forward thinking the $$ required for brakes if they buy my car it’s most likely hurting the sale.
I might even just swap rotors to the Girodisc and sell the rotors only. That’ll most certainly put me ahead enough money to take the next offer on my car.

I mean it is not a irreversible thing after all maybe other than having to buy new badges, unlikely he can reuse the old ones but tell him you buy a car for enjoyment for yourself not for the future owner, just enjoy the car how you like after spending all that money, resale is not as important. After all, buying a new car you pay for the depreciation which is a huge favour for the second owner anyways. I mean, that is how I put it. Just solely my opinion really.
