Have they been discontinued already? All I find is the gut replacement kit.

I went to purchase these a few months back and Paypal was not working right, so I couldn't order them. Condo renovations, my father's passing, and all sorts of other things put these on the back burner, and now when I try to order them, they aren't available on your site.

Durometer of the Elimivibes will stay the same. We are changing one of the metal parts to a different metal to aid temperature control of the mounts.

Since I have these in my car, I'd like to determine if I need to take any action here to prevent a similar failure

I got a call about another E63 that used this mounds having them encounter a temperature failure. What was learned about how that happened which drove the design change?

We (my mechanic) and I were going down the lines of heat shields near the drivers side turbo - trying to vent in some air - we were not sure. Instead we opted to put OE mounts in until Create Steel are able to get a solid (long term) solution. Even with heat shields in place, being in FL and long drives would after time just heat soak and be done with the mount (in theory). The folks at Creative Steel were awesome in working with me to find a good solution (and paid the labor to install the OE mounts - the owner is a man of his word)...but, for me, for the time being in my M187...it is factory mounts.

Wow... ok, well, I am in Oregon (about 45 mins from Creative Steel). It rarely gets above 100 degrees here... I wonder how much the ambient temp contributed to this. Also, how would you describe the driving style?
When they called me, I asked about the environment of the failure they were concerned about. He mentioned Florida, so I wonder if it was you... and Kudos to them for not only replacing your mounts, but proactively reaching out to me as well!
So - What were the symptoms? After I had these installed I haven't given them much thought... hopefully it's quickly obvious if they fail

We have some theories on why some mounts have had failures while most mounts have not.
BACKGROUND- The Elimivibe design utilizes the same internals (polyurethane design) for all styles. We manufacture them for gen1 CTS-V, Gen2 CTS-V, C5 Corvette, C6 Corvette, Charger, Challenger, Grand Cherokee, Durango, Audi S4, 55 AMG models, M156, M157, and a few others. With all of those vehicles and models we have only had a few M156 and M157 mounts fail. All of the failed mounts have been from a couple customers in FL, TX and Dubai. We have ruled out failure from horsepower due to not having any failures from numerous 1000+hp vehicles. There is a Hellcat that has been running our engine mounts for quite awhile now that is 1800HP and attends a lot of drag racing events.
THEORY- Our theory is the vehicles that are failing have 1 thing in common and that is there is very little airflow getting to the engine mounts. Most of the vehicles listed above are not sealed as tight underneath the vehicle like the newer Mercedes vehicles. After testing a few different vehicles with temperature sensors in various places on the engine mounts, we have noticed many of them have a decent amount of airflow going across the engine mount. This is not the case on W204 or W212. The factory did a great job on directing the airflow around the car and not through it.
So with that said we are not giving up! We do not like the idea of having customers remove the plastic panels underneath the vehicle as in our eyes that is just a band-aid. We have tested several options that look very promising as solutions for the guys in really hot climates. We have a few other ideas as well that have not been tested yet to further improve the mounts. We are currently implementing one of these solutions to all of our engine mounts that will effectively reduce the amount of heat in the polyurethane.

Thanks for being transparent!
Is there a plan (or intention) to advise existing customers about some kind of workaround? (i.e. install some kind of heat shield)

As of now, there is no need for alarm or to make unnecessary changes to your current mounts if they are performing as they should. The updates we are implementing would require the removal of the engine mounts, so there's no need to pull them unless they have failed. If your mounts do happen to fail, please give us a call and we will work with you on getting updates and warranty the polyurethane.

I seriously did drive past Mar-a-Lago the day that the motor mounts failed (had to go to one of our clinics). It was on the way back....I am thinking that it had something to do with Crooked Hillary as her minions and lemmings who cant NOT have me on some list somewhere.....So, I am thinking that Vince Foster was reincarnated as zombie alien alligator and ate the motor mount apart...

Here in Portland, if mine fail, it will probably be because some junkie took them out and tried to cut the poly with fentanyl before taking a crap on the hood...

All joking aside - i was reviewing this thread and noticed that your OEM mounts were also beat to sh*t like you describe the Creative Steel ones were. I wonder if you have some other imbalance or heat problem that would make any mount you install fail this way?
I'm an engineer, so this kind of commonality is intriguing to me on a pure scientific-inquiry level

The OE were pretty normal. They were pried out a by us and once torn, we'll, we tore it out. With OE, everything is fine. An imbalance will not cause the failure of the material in the CS mounts...

Happy customer
I bought a set and couldn’t be happier. Creative Steel mounts fitment is great. Factory heat shield still fits perfectly. Ride quality is not affected in a negative way. Here a picture of them fitted
