E63 W212 2012 Jerky issue P0018
Hi all, recently bought my E63 from 2012 with around 80k miles / 130.000 km
i started noticing the car Jerking from time to time lately. Feels like I’m driving a manual car, it’s lurching me back and forth in gears 1-2-3. Its hard to explain exactly when it happens but it usually happens after the engine is warmed up. Occurs more in comfort than sport+
like driving in low rpm’s it happens.
i checked fault codes and got p0018 the position of intake camshaft cylinder bank 2 is implausible
i switched position of the cam shaft sensors and the code was gone completely some how. checked codes again few days later. NOTHING.
but the car is still jerking. What to do here guys?

Agreed... if only in first gear, I would agree that this is likely you adapting to owning an MCT but if it's happening in second and third gear, then there's something else going on perhaps a manifold leak, if timing is off obviously that's going to be an issue, exhaust leak, sensors are dirty, etc

do you think replacing the camshaft sensors could help? I never changed them I just swapped places with all 4.
here’s a video of it happening.
It’s like if it’s struggling to go over 1000 rpm

You may have the old timing chain that is stretched and while you should change out all cps as a matter of routine maintenance (oil leaks in those sensors common) it could be the chain giving implausible signals
