Just wanna say a quick hello to the w212 AMG section. I’ve been on MB World for a while in the W211 AMG section. Former E55 owner and that car was amazing. But like a dummy, I sold it it back in 2019. Fast forward to 8-4-23, and I’m in a 2016 E63s, black on black. These forums are a great source of info and hopefully I can be decent contributor. Here’s a day one pic… with the Lexus GS I traded in the background.

Thanks. I thought about upgrading to a GS F but the money they are asking is crazy. And still not much aftermarket support, outside of RR Racing.

Lol thanks. You know I told someone the Lexus was a great car that does what it’s supposed to do, but that makes it kinda boring. I love the split personality of the AMG… civil when you need it be and savage when you want it to be.

Yup. It’s a great car for what it is, but being rwd it was a no go for me after one winter of driving it. Secondly, far too expensive to keep vs what I could get after selling it.

I'm a couple years in now on a black on black E63 traded up from my E55. Still no regrets! *mostly*-just on those rare dry days w/ sticky tires.

Nice. Said I wasn’t going to do another black car but they look soooo good in that color.

You know it. Gonna go through the engine making sure maint. really is up to date, address any potential issues, then get a baseline dyno.

I don’t see a “what did you do to your w212 AMG today?” thread so I guess I’ll do updates here. Got the windows tinted. Tried to keep it legal at 35%but even with the black interior, it jut doesn’t seem that dark maybe due to the pano roof shade still letting light through.


Replaced the driver side window switch. I don’t kn ow people tear these up so much.



Replaced driver side cross strut with the mevotech piece. I think I’ll replace the passenger side too just to keep things wearing evenly.



Oh, and replaced the cup holder cover because it was missing some pieces and getting stuck.
Boring stuff I know but just want to have the car right as possible. Need to go through the service history to verify everything is up to date before I get it tuned.
