What stopped with your Star clone? Was it XENTRY or the multiplexer? Could the license date have expired? I am very happy with my XENTRY system from @BenzNinja . No StartKey issues.
There are a few very good aftermarket scanners that are useful for reading (and sometimes clearing) codes. Some allow you to read live data and actuate certain functions during troubleshooting. They are often compact enough to keep in your car for a quick scan when you have a problem. However, none I have found provide the testing procedures for diagnosing problems like XENTRY does. There may be some high-end Autel tools that will do that, but I'm not interested in spending thousands of dollars for one.

2006 Pontiac Torrent 2006 chevy HHR
there is no support for any pontiacs period I have a 2006 pontiac torrent useless
I did a lot of research on the scanner and company before buying mine. So far I have to say that I have been impressed with the capability and coverage. It's better than the MaxiCOM which I actually have had before which had poor bidirectional support for MB. Also the other poster has no idea what he is talking about. If you research it Autel is actually a Chinese company wile YOUCANIC is a Maryland company. This may not be the most helpful reply but do some research this has been discussed before.

I recieved this for my birthday and I was away out of canada and yes i have been away almost one year job took me places anyway this said this scanner will not or cover the 2006 Pontiac Torrent period end of story not even with over 160 updates i just installed on mine wow!!! great so no it will not cover all makes as advertised anywhere and iam a mechanic by trade hoping it would I do have a codebook by launch it does my both vehicles it does cover my 2006 chevy HHR but thats it for my vehicles and my wife paid over one thousand dollars at the time (rip off) but anyway just buyer beware its a great scanner on my hhr but my torrent does not know even with my vin there you have it thanks hope one day it will but i highly doubt it this is 2024?? but who knows thanks.
