I have not noticed any drawbacks other than the CEL being on all the time, but that really is no big deal to me. As for power gain or loss, I cannot really tell a difference. It does not feel slower, and if it gained power, it is not all that noticeable.

No issues installing! Just make sure you buy a new gasket for the left exhaust pipe where it connects to the resonator. I did not try any O2 spacers as I heard they are very tricky with these cars and do not work.

People are hit and mostly miss with 02 extenders ... occasionally people will be successful and it'll be a permanent fix or it'll eventually not work and trip the CEL

You found this DIY-able without full lift? I’ve been trying to imagine reaching the bolts at turbo/manifold, need to review the @kenneyd video again and decide

yeah makes sense I have the newest update from mb, also I’m not to worried about the CEL as it seems it doesn’t affect reliability if I don’t tune it

- Yeah I’m starting to think cut outs may just the my only option for the sound aspect and the fact it doesn’t risk reliability is a bonus. I do have fidelity platinum warranty which is a bonus on a stock car but from what I know a modded car will not be covered at all.

in regard to tunes, what do most people run for reliability out of curiosity? Eurocharged Weistec Renntech etc?

what we know:
-"no tune" is your best option
- a mild tune is second best but introduces known risks to a engine with several Achilles' heels
- stick to popular tuners vs one off brands as there is simply more feedback here and more support from EC, AMS, etc than "my local tuner down the street" usually and more anecdotal and empiric data on the popular tuners on this forum

there is absolutely no way to know which popular tuner is more/less reliable as tunes are inherently decreasing the reliability of the vehicle and also the car will be driven more aggressively. It's a fools errand to search for this holy grail.
what we know:
