RECARO seats retrofit complete

Finally got around to retrofitting RECARO bucket seats into my 3.0L Whipple E63 AMG.

Swapping them in dropped about 70lbs compared to the OEM power/heated/ventilated seats with side airbags, which felt like boat anchors by comparison.

All SRS-related functions are fully coded out using DAS/Xentry - no airbag lights, no fault codes, no warnings and no need for resistors.

I left the factory seatbelts in place to keep things as OEM as possible, just waiting on a few bolts to finish securing them and it should good to go.

Super happy with the feel and look of these seats, makes the driving experience much more exciting!

DAS software with Tactrix Openport 2.0.

Very easy, just go into the SRS module, unlock it, and disable all the side airbags, Neck-Pro, and weight sensing system features.

May I ask, how much does each seat weigh?
Is driver seat with active side bolsters heavier than passenger seat?

This is great update to your car, most of us who are "sporty" find simple manual buckets such as your Recaro leather buckets perfectly comfortable.

fantastic job dude. I have a set of 213 recaro seats that are 25 lb lighter each about . I wanted these but didn’t want to lose the seat functions. . Your setup looks killer .

Those M cars are pretty damn fast with bolt-ons these days lol

The stock seats were comfy for sure, but they sat way too high for me and felt very bulky. The ventilation was hardly noticeable and I wanted to update the look for true bucket seats similar to the black series.

The Recaros hug you into place and sit much lower, gives it more of a drivers feel to it.

Factory E63 seats weigh around 70lbs each, RECARO's with brackets, sliders and mounts weigh around 35lbs. Total weight reduction is around 70lbs.

Yeah the Recaro's are surprisingly comfy and they lock you into place.

Thanks man, I was also looking into the W213 Performance seats. I was about to pull the trigger on some but decided to go for the black series look with the pole positions. I'd be happy with either setup!

sickSVT, thank you for the weight of the W212 E63 (70lbs each).

Cifdig,

Are W213 E63 AMG front seats "plug-n-play" swap into our W212? And 25lbs weight savings each?

Thanks, curious, because they retain OEM look, although do not save nearly as much weight.

I know right! I'm just teasing. Your build is cool AF! If you track your car at all (I hope so!!) then the buckets make way more sense than the stock lounge chairs. And I agree it the ventilation is a bit disappointing, but that is how most are. Helps sweaty backs a bit though!
