Front axle boot

inner boot kit is available or can be purchased individually.
however, for the outer, febi seems to be the only available option from fcpeuro.
lastly, febi bilsteb kit does not include lock ring, snap ring and protective ring. I’d assume these following parts are reusable..?

Actually I just looked at the E63 parts diagrams and it appears it uses the same boots as my W204. I was able to get all the part #'s from W221 parts diagrams that also uses the same boots.
I bought all Genuine Mercedes parts. I bought all the parts for one cv axle at my local MB dealer but then noticed the other side boot torn so needed to order another set. I did buy all the parts for the inner boot from FCP. i was already going to place an order for the GKN grease and noticed they had all the other parts.
I made a thread documenting my boot replacement here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...e-removal.html
Besides the boots, clamps and grease I did buy the snap rings and retaining rings but did not use them. I would buy them just to have in case, I almost lost a retaining ring when it flung off.
Heres the parts diagrams I used to get the part #'s.

I really wanted Genuine MB parts so had to track them down.

I assume mbpartsource delivered listed products without any hiccups?
So did you order inner from fcp and outer from mbpsrtsource?

Then I noticed the drivers side inner boot torn. I ordered 1 inner boot, clamps, retaining ring, snap ring, axle bolt and grease from FCP. I replaced both boots on the drivers side.
I still wanted to replace the passenger side boots and since I just did the drivers side might as well get the passenger side out of the way. I tried to see online if parts were in stock at my local MB dealer and thats when I was told the outer boot is not in stock nation wide at any MB dealer. FCP doesnt sell the outer boot either. So thats when I found MBpartsource. I ordered both inner and outer boots with clamps from MBpartsource. Placed another order for more grease at FCP.
I ordered extra clamps in case I screwed them up which I still have. Also never used the snap ring, retaining ring and axle bolt. Ordered extra grease just to have on hand for other things.

I appreciate the details! It’s very helpful. So it’s my understanding you only ended up using strictly the boots and the clamps? Although you had other rings and spares, nothing else besides only the boots and clamps were used?

BUT I did not remove the complete axles. I still left the inner hubs in the car so I did not even deal with the snap rings. I did have to remove the retaining rings but they both looked fine so reinstalled them.
They are inexpensive.
