That's what I have heard, too. The AMG folks backtrack just like everyone else. Thus the thing is dead in the water as of now. The entire AMG is all messed up now with the "43" and most of what's coming.

Way too many AMG of everything they make. Used to be better and more prestigious 12 years ago.

The biggest thing with Merc/AMG is that they don't differentiate at all. . . I'm fine with the Audi "S-Line Trim" and BMW "M Performance Parts" because they take the name but not the glory entirely: the cars are not S or M cars outright, they just have the parts and there is a clear distinction. Slapping the full AMG moniker on everything definitely dilutes it a little bit harder than the competitor brands do in my mind.

you can get an e63 coupe.. you just need to buy an e500 and send it to GAD and comes back to you with 1000+hp/ trq on race gas setting

It's interesting but this model of having sedan, coupe and convertible version of every model is probably creating some issues. BMW recently announced that they have too many body styles and will be cutting back in future model cycles.

Thats a good step in the right direction for BMW. The Amg brand i feel is getting diluted too fast

^ i agree.. i think audi does it best with their 3 tier lineup... you can get normal A-series and then if you want a little sportier you can steep up to S-series and then for the most performance oriented buyers they can step up to the RS-series which has more limited lineup (almost too limited in some cases as in case of the last generation RS6 that you couldnt get in north america)
