Customer E63 Deliveries - Update please

Nice hope you get your car soon. My SA was telling me the Canadians are asking for snow tires instead of the 4 year pre-paid maintenance MB Canada is giving for those cars stuck for months at the port. Not sure if there is any truth to that though. My wagon missed the 7/31 cutoff date on the MBUSA offer (2 yrs pre-paid maintenance) since it arrived on 8/18 at the Baltimore VPC.

go fast grocery getter wagon
No truth for the wagon as they were not in production until September.
as for us demanding winter sets, I went to 3 different mb dealers last week and not one dealer knows and have any knowledge whether this car will have winter set available for this winter at all. One dealer tried to piece together a winter set (wheels are special ordered from Germany) from their a la cart bin and it came to $5,500 Cdn + taxes + few hundred $ install/mount.

As promised here are some pictures of my wagon. Picking the car up on Friday. Also an Edition 1 was delivered at the same time my wagon was delivered, a couple of pictures below the wagon pictures. The first E63s to be delivered to the dealer per my SA when he looked.

Hope you get the PS4S with your wagon. I wanted the PS4S' on my wagon but I saw it came with the Pirellis, oh well. When I need new tires I'll switch to the PS4S.

Picking up E63S - Toronto- This Friday
Haven't been checking this forum too much as of late but I will be picking up my car this Friday. Drove it a few days ago at the dealership but needed to finish all the paperwork in order to pick it up. If anyone wants some pictures or videos of specific aspects of the car let me know.

No problem. will take lots of pictures, videos etc. I'll check the tire pressure as well. Going for a long day of driving with the car so definitely, will tell you my initial thoughts.

Just wondering I managed to find two E63S around my area. I always remembered money factor being roughly .00190-.00220 as that was what I received for my last two E63 when they were fresh out but this time around I'm being quoted .00250 and a mind numbing .00350. Are these numbers similar to what you are all receiving right now? Thanks!

That does seem high compared to the 2.19% I can get for 42 months. If I decide instead to take a longer term loan the rate goes up to 2.99% for 78 months.
I can understand why it's sometimes more attractive to lease rather than buy, but don't understand why the effective cost of money should be any different for the two investments if the lengths of the terms are equal. Maybe there's some valid reason, but it's never been explained to me to my satisfaction.
My wife used to be in car finance, and she couldn't explain it. She did say that they loved leases . . . Seeing those numbers I can understand why now.

The standard factor is .0022. Anything higher is marked up.
In addition, if you make extra security deposits, up to ten of them, your money factor can drop to .0016. That equates to a savings of 200 a month with nothing down on a net 110k car (after discounts). The deposits are refunded at the end. Much better than cap pay downs! The deposits are the monthly payment. So for my example, you give them 18k, but you save $7200 in charges and you get your 18k back at the end.
In my case, the dealer is giving me 10k off of msrp on a 120k car. The lease payment with zero down and the ten deposits is 1575 a month. Without deposits it is 1772 a month. I am in NJ so 6.875 tax included.
I am at .0016 factor with the ten deposits. I would never allow a dealer to pull that crap. Plenty of dealers will do standard factor.

The downside of the Edition 1 is that, a) they aren't available through the European Delivery Program, b) you can't spec them, you get whatever options are on the car, c) it only comes with the sport seats, and d) there's no stripe delete option.
After looking into it, I found there's nothing special about the Edition 1 except for its paint and some yellow stitching in the seats, meaning no performance upgrade with higher output or better handling.
So at the end of the day, while I really like the Night Black Magno, I ended up with a car optioned out a lot better and more suited to my tastes.

Edition 1 only comes in Night Black Magno in the US. That's the only car on which this color is available in the US - I tried to order mine with it, but no go, so went with the Selenite Grey Magno instead.
