I guess when mine was supposed to be ready for Sep 11 production, the factory ran out of major parts, like an engine ?? LOL. Hence, the wait for nearly 40 days to get it. I wonder.

I guess I need an engine and 4 wheels to go with it.
I have just gone to see my SA in person. He simply told me the car would typically require 2-3 weeks of production time and after that, a shipping date can then be generated and the approx. arrival in the country can be uploaded/updated in the MB database. Therefore, for now, I have simply said to my SA, if the car encounters any further unexplained delay beyond December 2017, I will NOT accept the car at all, no matter what and they can proceed to refund my deposit on Jan 2, 2018. Not a threat, but simply tired of this whole buying situation (as I am the one having to chase down the information on each of the steps along the way) and will look for something else later on.

I would assume your order would have been in the same batch as mine. Not sure it helps but here my timeline based on what I am being told by the dealership. Wonder whats special on your wagon!!

I have started back in Sept and yet no MB dealer (in Canada) and even aftermarket wheels resellers (US online sites or actual shops) can tell me what wheels can fit the car. I sure hope somebody in this forum can provide details and pics of their winter setup (esp. wheels brand and size) real soon.
The actual wheel/tire store told me if I ordered what I think should fit, I would be buying them at my own risk as they will not be refunded.

I am in the northeast US and have an Audi S6 with the ZR performance tires. I have driven mine in snowstorms with no issue. Is there a reason for the winter tires? I guess in areas that get much more snow it may be helpful, but, I have yet to have an issue with the Audi. Slips a little but gets through anything.

I value my life (and others) more than simply trying to save a few $ which the winter tires are deemed to be necessities (at least in wintery Canada) for like 5 months of the year.

It's in german, but you can translate it using google translate or your favorite translator service.

This is for the wagon, but it should be the same for the sedan from what I know.

Just use 20” snows.
factory snows are 265 width tires all around. I’m going to likely go with sottozero series 2 265/35/20 99v tires at all 4 corners. It’s the cheapest way and will get the job done. I used these tires last winter on my GTS and had no issues. PM me If you want my contact, you will find it difficult to beat his tire prices.

Gotcha... wasn't being a wiseass. Just with us only having a couple of big storms, the summer tires always worked for me. I also work close to home.
Congrats on the car! Can't for my Audi lease to end......

Summer tires become a hockey puck at temp below or near freezing mark. There is totally no grip at all on a cold wet road ... believe me, I have bad personal experience.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Thanks, I needed to hear that, I guess I'm having a little buyers remorse right now, it is just so much money, I've never spent anywhere close to this on a car. The 2012 AMG I had
I had bought used for 80 grand, before I know it, this 2018 will be worth 80 grand also within a year and half or so, thats the way it goes with these cars, but what the heck, one life
to live and I love these AMG's and really wanted the redesigned model which I've been waiting for a long time. I sold the 2012 this past summer for 45 grand which I felt I did good in getting that and bought a 2015 S550 off lease car for 60 grand for my daily driver, now I've got the best of both worlds.

Totally agree with you on the price. My prev most expensive was a Maserati Ghibli S Q4, still like 30k cheaper than this beast. Currently driving a 2015 E350 wagon and waiting impatiently...

Great to see a photo of cardinal red. I ordered this too and expect to take delivery first week of Nov. Would love to see more photos if you get a chance!

pictures of the car tomorrow and post them here. Ya, some people don't like the Red, I do, pictures don't do it justice, in person it looks awesome and I'm really liking the silver forged wheels.
The backside of the car has a lot of bling and I'm liking it. It's a very flashy looking car. I've had Silver, Gray and Black cars in the past and just wanted
something really different this time around.

Stage 1 tune results are in from DME Tuning, every day that goes by I come across something new that gets me excited about the new E63S. I just saw an Edition 1 at the dealer and those seats in person are stunning!

One option that was pretty important to me is the standard seats. With the Edition 1 you're stuck with the sport seats. While I'm sure I could put up with them for a bit, many reviewers have said go for the standard seats if you plan to drive the car for longer trips as the sport seats get uncomfortable after a while. But, or should I say butt? I suppose that depends upon your build and how well you fit the sport seats.

Yes the sport seats are the obvious one...Iam talking am I going to miss any of the additional features, heated arm rests, massage seats, IDP...Who actually uses them?

Couple of things...
Obviously the stripes are on the Edition 1, the accent stitching on the seats, dash, and door sill lights are all yellow. Having the sport seats will negate the massage and dynamic seat functions. The doors and centre console will not be heated either. Other obvious things are that the steering wheel and sport seat inserts will be in black chrome (interior night package), and most importantly all the Edition 1’s I’ve seen have the Distronic Package with the Sport seats and you cannot order the car that way in Canada at least...
