Just a US update. Outside Philly to be exact. My dealer emailed me last night to let me know my car is in the US. We are now waiting for "certification" and a price.....crazy.
This will be my third E AMG and from paper should be my favorite.


Silver with night package, ceramic, burmeister upgrade......loaded.

I have the Acoustic package in my E63S but believe me you don't need it I wish I did not order it... it will isolate you from the rumble..the car is very quiet... you feel like you are in S class
other than that the car is fantastic.

Great, good news. A couple reviews I'd seen were talking about a lot of wind noise and road noise, these might have been pre-production models or something. It did not sound right because even my 2012 is fairly quiet.

I want my damn car! A car company like MB should have seen to the certification a long time ago. Pre prods should have hit the shores in NA, the biggest market, upon press launch to get this rolling. My new starship is sitting in a parking lot in Halifax covered in white plastic when it should be under my right foot. Sigh.

There is a vid out there of a diamond silver car which I got talked out of. It looks to be the one to have if I could order again. Everyone should get the night pack except black.

Unfortunately I think this will be the norm for a while for start of model year cars. It's not Mercedes fault. It's the US government. All new German cars have been having these delays. The Porsche Panameras was delayed at port for about 4 months!

What we should really do is call those idiots at the EPA and make their lives hell until they get their act in order.

Well, hopefully that color of AMG MB's car is in fact the Selenite Gray because that's what I ordered on my car, nobody confirmed thats what it was. I guess it can't be the Designo Magna as that must be a flat gray color? I figure by the time my car is built in September there should not be wait at port as they should be well beyond Certification at that point I hope. I dunno what other car I'd get as replacement if it does not work out with my ordered car. Maybe a Audi RS7 if I could find a in stock one at the time.

I'm pretty sure that is selenite grey, and yes it's not designo magno. I think I'm going to go with selenite grey as well, just have to go to the dealer and get things sort out.
Did you get the normal or performance seats? I'm leaning on getting the normal seats as it retains the massage function, and I feel that performance seats on the e63s is kind of pointless because let's be real, it's not a track car. There's only going to be a handful of e63s owners who will bring it to the track. It's supposed to be a business/family saloon. The performance seats DO look great, but in my opinion the normal seats make more sense. Anyone also have the same thoughts as me?

had a cts-v last year with the recaro, this time my e63s is ordered with the normal seat. normal seat are vented and have the massage function, much better for what i do with the car.

Yes, exactly, i got the regular seats too. I don't like those race seats, I don't find them as comfortable on long trips and find them harder to get in and out of the car. Thanks for the confirmation on the paint. Was thinking what if it's a different color sent to other parts of the world other than the USA, lol. I get Paranoid about these things. I probably gotta be crazy ordering a car with my personality, but I guess it's the only way I'm gonna get a new AMG Wagon other than buying used which I nearly did.

I ordered mine with with designo Selenite Grey Magno Metallic. That seems to be the color most commonly found on the cars I've seen in the various Youtube reviews.

I did see an Edition 1 at the LA auto show last year. I think that color is a little darker than the Selenite Grey. The Palladium Silver is nice too, but if I had ordered that color I probably wouldn't have gone with the night package and dark rims. I think the chrome looks better with the Silver.

Also went with the non-sport seats on the advice of many reviewers. My daily commute is about five miles, but I hope to do a few longer trips in the car, and found the regular seats just fine on the E63S I sat in in Geneva last month.

One thing I thought of recently is I kinda like the Illuminated door sills on my 2012. I don't see that as a option anywhere on the ordering form on the 2018 AMG's, I don't see it listed as standard equipment either. Hopefully it will have them. I ordered the premium 03 package, the only difference between that and the 04 is the 04 package has the Race Seats. Illuminated door sills are not listed under stand alone options either. If anybody orders one of these cars don't forget to include the optional exhaust system if you want more sound when in performance modes or even just actuated by the switch on the center console. I think that is a cool feature and I nearly forgot to include it.

it looks amazing all blacked out like that from factory. Night package really adds to the aggressive styling on all colours, and especially in black IMHO.

I don't know if each dealer gets one. My dealer told me that they aren't available for order through the European delivery program, which is the route that I'm going, or for regular delivery to a U.S. dealer.

He said basically, that there will only be so many built and allocated across the various dealers, and that there would likely be some added dealer markup on top of the car price.

2012 merc yes that colour is selenite. I have it on my gle63, it's a great colour you won't be disappointed.

On the night pack - I feel cars need the right amount of contrast and with black and the night pack it's all dark. I am already worried my mango selenite will be too dark, but it looks great from the pics and I haven't had a matte car yet. Might do rims with this one we'll see.

I'm pretty sure the edition 1's are not limited editions like others have said to be. It is just like when the c63s coupe edition 1's came out. They were available even 6 months after launch. All it is is an "edition 1 package" which gives you the paint, slightly different diffusers/aero, yellow stitching, etc.
If this edition 1 follows the c63s coupe edition 1's, it should be the same idea.
I remember watching a review also saying the e63s edition 1's are not limited editions like how many think they would be.

Nobody knows anything about the AMG Illuminated door sill plates? I'm hoping my car I ordered has them. I've got the P03 package with the regular seats, but I don't see these as add on's on the ordering form or listed as standard equipment. I'm assuming the car has them with the P03 package, but like I said I can't find them unless MB just does not offer them anymore, my 2012 has them.

My understanding is there will be 213 of Edition 1's and all the AMG Center dealerships will get one and the remainder will disburse at the other dealers. If they try and boost the price up, I'll just wait.....

Yeah, that is pretty much my understanding also. And the U.S. won't have a choice of magno paint options like Europe. The U.S. only gets designo Night Black Magno.
