Thinking of ordering E63 S Wagon - So many questions...
Hello Folks - looking for a little input on an order I am considering. Rather than posting a different thread for each question, I figured I'd try and fit them all into one.
OK, here goes;
1) any idea when build slots will open for the Wagon in the US? Two dealers I called did not have build slots, and seemed clueless.
2) I'm in slaes, and since sales people aren't allowed to show success to their customers, as much as I can, id like this car to be as low profile as I can make it. To that end, whats the quietest exhaust option for me? Do I go with the standard exhaust, OR is the Performance exhaust possibly quieter when set to the "normal" mode?
3) In considering this car, I would be selling my 911. One of my favorite things in my car (and there are a lot of things I love) is the PDK, which in "sport mode" is brilliantly fast both up and down. Will AMG's version of a semi-automatic be anywhere close to as responsive as the PDK I currently have?
4) My 2011 E550 4matic has air suspension, that allows me to lift the car about an inch, which is pretty useful when driving in deep snow. I notice the new E63's will have air suspension, Does it allow you to raise the car up as well?
5) how long does it typically take for Mercedes to offer more interior choices? The current non-black options are pretty bleak....
Thats all I've got for now. I appreciate any help.

go fast grocery getter wagon
1. Just call all the mb dealers in your local area. You can basically order the wagon now, it would be just matter of allocation.
I am in Canada, I was told at the early stage of production, dealers here in Canada will be allocated 1 wagon per month per dealer. I don't know if this is true or not but I would imagine this kind of scarce allocation may only be in effect for a few months and then back to normal.
2. I think you should still consider ordering the upgraded exhaust system as it has the button to turn on/off the valve. Therefore, it would sound like the normal exhaust if you have it turned off.
3. Since nobody here has the car yet in North America, you will have to wait for owners' feedback or go search on youtube for reviews. But if you are going to compared a Porsche PDK to anything else out there, there is really no comparison to PDK, IMO.
4. Don't know and there are no review that I know of have anything mentioned of this.
5. The ordering guide to configure the interior is really lacking. Maybe MB will have something for MY2019

I actually had the privilege to ride in one the other day. I'll chime in what I can...
1) got nuthin...
2) Riding in the car with the exhaust set at "max" it was definitely evident. When he set it to quiet, it really mellow. Like a stock charger with a hemi. As long as you don't rev it too high in parking lots, I'm sure you'll be fine.
3) I have not ridden in a 911 with PDK. I can say that the shifts were fast and hard when in the highest sport mode. It was NOT in "manual" mode though when we did the heavy accelerating. It was in manual mode when driving slightly casual. the downshifts were quick with a sweeeet throttle blip.
4) No idea. he did not mess with the air suspension when I was in the car. I'll try to call Paul at Blue Ridge Mercedes (the guy who drove it) and see if he played with that feature.
5) no idea, sorry.
Hope this helps!

I saw a white E63 wagon at Lowes in Rancho Santa Margarita two days ago and now am very interested in driving one. It would replace my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I suspect I could carry just as much, with lower lift height. European delivery would also be great fun.
Do any of you know the dimensions of the cargo area floor? I need a work vehicle (environmental consulting) and collect and refurbish old radios, including floor-standing consoles from the late 1920s to early 1940s.
