So much for a summer delivery. Will probably get it just before the snow flies, and after the warranty expires on my current car and something breaks.

Been thinking about just keeping my '14, getting the extended warranty and picking up a used 6spd 911 TT cab to have on the side for something fun and different. I owe 44k on my car on October 1 so I could just buy the warranty and drop 100k on something else and have two cars for the same price as the new one and be on the other end of the depreciation equation for a change.

Can anyone chime in with something to make me feel better?

Get a poster size 911 Cabrio and put that in direct view from your bed ... in just a few weeks of staring at it, you will then completely forget the mb order and you may even want to cancel it altogether

I sold my GTS 4 months ago and I'm chomping at the bit, might buy a GLE63 S unitl the E clams down. There's already one Ebay 10k over sticker for an Edition 1, no thanks!

We have a GLE63s as well. It is a sick machine & if you need an SUV go get one, you will be glad you did. Love the GTS, some early edition 1s are starting to look more affordable...

My advice to you is wait a bit longer....after all this wait I owned a 14 E63S that I sold in May in anticipation of the new one arriving (Halifax since then) and have been on a loaned car since...having driven the old one and the new one at an AMG event I can tell you the difference is huge. As for Porsche I always thought I'd get one as a third car. These 2 are different machines for different uses.

By the way what are you hearing from dealers?

These import delays pose interesting issues.

I was originally interested in W213 E63. Import delay occurred, and then I switched my order to GLC63S Coupe. Now it looks like that is delayed, and I'm considering switching my order to the 2019 Cayenne Turbo.

Also the 2019 BMW M5 will be announced in about 3 weeks time, and order banks are already open so it wouldn't surprise me if some people defect to that.

I freaky want this car.

But I'm near to loss my patience and cancel my order. Winter will be here in november/december and I don't want to breakin it in the cold season !

I start thinking about keeping my BMW until spring or looking to buy something else (Audi RS, Posrche etc.)

I'm no longer getting any updates other than it should be in August. I don't think dealers know much at this point and are not willing to make promises or commitments...losing my patience too especially since I sold my 14 E63S back in May. But i'm telling myself that the day I pull the trigger on something else which is not what I want anyway the cars will be available and i will regret it, so for the moment I'm waiting.

What are you guys hearing from dealers so far? Please update.

For Canada, my SA just called up MB Canada head office and emailed me a response.

All the E63s are still sitting at Halifax and nobody knows when they will be certified; some have been sitting there since around April/May.

If you are staying in the deal, then you should ask MB Canada for some sort of monetary compensation.

Over at Porsche, Porsche Canada is giving $500 automatically to all the waiting customers. Although it is not much per se, at least the manuf. is doing something, rather than nothing. Last checked, the 18 Porsche models have just been certified within the last 2 weeks and now, there are reported cases that some are taking delivery started this week.

I'm staying in the deal and it sounds like I will be getting something as a compensation. I will share as I know more. Thanks!

Owner of dealership said that MB will try to get cars delivered in august, but it maybe September before it's delivered

... but even if someone here is to order one, the delivery won't be expected until sometimes next summer (2018) as MY2019. Then if things go accordingly, this may M5 will last about 1 year at max before the LCI is due in the following year in 2019 as MY2020. Same crap setup as the last gen F10 M5.

Even if the certification is passed and approved, the logistic of arranging all those cars at port to be delivered to dealers across the country will be another 4 weeks time, therefore, the remainder of August timeline of delivery is a total write off.

I have a feeling the E63 will get an early LCI too. And it will include the new Panamerica grille and also the gorgeous new steering wheel from the S63.

Waiting for the M5 is another year ahead. Might as well wait for the GT4 😊

Regarding compensation, i feel like they might offer free servicing or something like that. Reasonable?

I would cancel my order if my E63 were sitting at port for months. Ridiculous..

GT4 will likely be near $180K Cdn starting price.

Is that what your dealer is hinting to you ? Free servicing ? how many years ? I think retail pricing for the 3 yrs would be $1000 but does not include new brakes replacement.

There could also be significant problems with the cars mechanically (from the factory) .... just saying.... and they are scrambling for a fix

lots of "new" tech on this model

While I admit this is a possibility I don't think it's a realistic concern as there's multiple vehicles being held up Mercedes and elsewise

Well the cars have been running in Europe for some time now. We would have heard about a mechanical problem no?

As for the 4matic+ certification, I don't really see how this is an environmental problem. Please explain.
I was told the cars failed a certification test related to the eco function.
