Winter tires R20

Hey guys,

Now that the wait is finally over and the cars are slowly arriving the question of what winter tires to fit in comes up -too soon- unfortunately.
Have you guys looked at winter tires for these beasts? I can't find any and it looks like we may need to go 19R based on MB recommendation.
Thoughts?

As I have reported on a few other threads (winter tires package availability), there is officially none available as of today and one dealer is using the European dealer package configuration template and put together one 19-inch package that cost nearly $6,000 Cdn or $4,500 US (estimate).

If you go for 20, there are tires available. Like Nokian Hakka R2 (non performance winter), Dunlop 3D (performance winter), Pirelli Sotto 3 (performance winter).

I decided to go for the 19" rims for winter..
They will be equipped with Nokian Hakka 9 (Studded) as this is the best option where I live.

My other alternative was the Nokian Hakka R2 as this actually is a great tyre for winter use.

I will use OEM MB rims.
Front: 9,5 J x 19 H2 ET25, MB part-number: A 213 401 26 00
Rear: 9,5 J x 19 H2 ET52, MB part-number: A 213 401 46 00

These are the only 19" rims approved by MB for the E63 S

Here is a german PDF describing what's ok and not on these cars.. The PDF is for the wagon, as my car will be a wagon..

https://m.mercedes-benz.de/content/m...mbi_170216.pdf

The optimal tire dimension according to MB is 265/40-19, but I will use 255/40-19 because the recommended dimension is impossible to find with good winter tyres..

That is the same winter wheels that one of the dealer here in Canada is piecing together with Michelin PA4 or Conti TS 830P, which is quoted at nearly $6000 Cdn or $4500 US (when converted from Cdn $)

They are quite expensive..
I'm paying somewhere around USD 6000 for rims equipped with Nokian Hakka 9.

The prices in Norway are more than crazy..
Hakka 9 will cost approx USD 450 pr. piece.
To compare, I would have to pay around USD 350 pr. piece for the Alpin PA4

I believe that they I will have some more discounts also, so the winter wheels will maybe be a bit less expensive.

The dealer told me the 19" wheel itself is around $1200 Cdn or $900 US MSRP ... but dealer discounts 20% for the wheel itself. The tires, tpms are priced nearly MSRP with a smaller discount of around 10% (if I recalled)
