In for service - Lost ABS, Lane Assist, and Eletronic diff

At 875 miles on the clock and this morning in traffic the ABS and Active Lane Assist warning came up on the dash as inactive and then a little later got a message about the electronic locking differential not working followed by the check engine light coming on. Luckily I was only 2 exits from the dealer so it's now been dropped off for service. I'll post their response as soon as I hear from them. Car felt to be driving fine, no strange noises or smells. Feels like a sensor type problem.

Crazy... sorry to hear about the issues. Is it me, or does it seem like a disproportionately high number of new W213 are having problems? This despite the long wait at port. Perhaps those software "updates" were rushed and fraught with problems.
Good luck with your fixes.

While site name is MBWorld, it doesn't seem like many of the international owners of the W213 E63 have found their way to this neck of the forum.

It would be interesting to hear more about the experience that others have been having for those cars released earlier this year in Europe and elsewhere. Should be some cars with several thousand miles on them by now and innumerable race starts and other abuse.

Should be some chatter out there if a significant number of the cars were having issues.

Haven't heard from the dealer but the tattle tells on Travel Zone and Speed Alert from the Mercedes Me app tell me the tech did a test drive and went over 85MPH..... must not be too broken.

We'll be having a chat about the speed.

Lucky, My car is in the shop and still no word on what they think it is.... Guess my fault for not having an appointment on my new 400 mile $120k car.

That's when you contact Mercedes HeadQuarters and say I think someone is going to be providing me some extended warranty for not breaking in the car properly?

Wow... that new app seems to have some great functionality. That was not possible to do in the last model. With this alert can you save the alert? Does it still track the location like the old app?
Good luck!

I've been looking at dash cameras.

Then when I have to hand the car over to service or to a valet, I can point to it and say "There's a dash cam, take car of my car and there will be tip for you. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, and that will be the end of it. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you."

Or words to that effect ;-)

My wife pointed out not everyone may have seen the Taken move.

So before anyone takes offense, it's a joke and a slightly modified version of Liam Neeson's quote in the movie.

Well I'm halfway to Florida and the car has not blown up yet, lol. Just hit 800 miles. 200 miles of break in left. I notice front tires are starting to get more noisy already, mainly when I put on the brakes, my 2012 did that also. Sounds like I have snow tires on the front wheels when I slow down for a traffic light. These cars sure are not the most quiet cars around. At the very least though at your MB shop the Tech should loose his job and you should get awarded a 3 year service contract. That is just wrong the way he bast the snot out of your car.

Faulty connector

From the service ticket.

Also spoke with the service manager this morning and reviewed the alerts with him. After a few apologies he agreed to extend the extended warranty from 75k to 100k.

I don’t think that’s enough. Techs should not be driving customers cars at high speeds like that, it’s not theirs to abuse. Glad they found your issue and it turned out to be something simple. I’m up to 1200 miles on my car on my trip to Florida and it’s running great. Sill have not gone beyond half throttle with it.

Nice of them to resolve it that way - at 850 miles the engine is barely broken in.

On the plus side, maybe the tech just took it up to 85 and not much above just to make sure the issue was resolved and the service light was not gonna come on at higher speeds, sounds like he knew what he was doing according to the write up on the ticket. I guess only AMG certified techs work on these cars.

I just dropped off my car at MB Manhattan with similar issues. On occasion I get lane keep assist, brake assist, blind spot assist etc not operable. If I shut the engine off and turn it on again it is all good.

The service manager called a little while ago saying the issues are due to faulty radar in the car and that it needs to be replaced. So car is going to be in the shop for a few days while they order the part.

And funny how all us owners are alike. I had the driving journal, speed alert and travel zones activated on my MB ME app. Never know with these guys.

i just had this happen

my biggest question is

if a radar piece is having issue, why is my traction control and ABS/braking also effected?
