From what we discussed over the phone, they're gonna have a look at the car to see what can be done first, just a quick 1hr walk around and proof of concept thing. Then I'll come back a second time for them to start work, i.e measuring, fitment, etc. Then I'll come back a third time when they have a release product to fit to my car.
As far as I know, they're booked up into the New Year for the actual work, so Monday is just a proof of concept thing. Might be a while yet.

I'll definitely purchase a set, the sooner the better. Nervous driving this car on the highway the way it is, I stay aways behind trucks and things that are a risk. It would be nice to not have to be constantly clearing debris out of these openings like I do now. Maybe it's as simple as nylon netting material? I just wonder how much it takes to obstruct cooling on these beasts especially when driving the car hard? Thanks for your time spent on this endeavor, I think it's a real worthwhile thing, I still cannot believe Benz Designed these front ends like they are, very high probability of damage occurring at one point or another.

Yeah, sorry, was busy last couple of days.
Did the round trip to go see Peter and his boys down at Zunsport. Very lovely chap. Said it could be done but I'll have to make 2 more trips up for fittings and prototyping etc.
The product will fit OVER the fins in the air dams and will be very incognito. I handled some meshes that Peter showed me. I expected them to feel like chickenwire so I was pleasantly surprised when it felt like I could knock a bloke out with one.
Even better, it will require no disassembly or removal of any parts, nor will it require drilling holes. It's simply spring loaded and clips on.
Zunsport are closing on Thursday for Xmas/NY and I will be busy until after the New Year too. We've agreed to speak after New Years and figure out a date to start sorting this all out.

Did the original builds have the thin black plastic vertical grill over the radiators ? Does not look like they would protect much, Plus the center radiator doesn’t have these at all.

They are indeed vulnerable. I have to clean out the front area every day. I suspect a face lift C63 will have these as the GTS, S and E have them. Putting a chicken wire seems to help. At least with the W222, the S65 came standard with common sense and had a full mesh grill across the front. Base on pictures and bumper tabs already on the 63, I think the s65 style mesh will fit on the 63. A minor inconvenience, but I would likely buy a e63 and diy a protection on it. Good luck to all you debris eater out there.

Hello everybody, wanted to share, how the service made protection for the radiators for my mercedes.
I live in Russia, I write through the translator, sorry for my English.
I bought three original parts, gave them to the service, and when they were ready, they came and Installed them on my car, and send me this finish foto.Maybe to someone this information will be useful.

It's so silly that Benz did not put something like the above pictures on the car to start with, I have to drive back from Florida to up North the end of April and I'm nervous I may end up stranded on the side of the road with a stone through one of the intercoolers or the radiator. What were they thinking. At least with some grates like the above pictures you'd stand more of a chance of not having a disaster happening and I don't see those blocking airflow much at all. Looks like as far as install goes the bumper cover of the car must have to be removed, but that above setup looks very clean and factory, I don't want something that is cut and inserted and looks mickey mouse on this car.

Has anyone tried to contact Rennline to have some made?
I had these on my 991 TTS: http://www.rennline.com/Rennline-Rad...uctinfo/E1000/

I just emailed Rennline, They are in Vermont, I'm up there a lot in the summers. Looks like a good company. They make a lot of these for Porsches as they have this issue on the 991's and some other models. Hopefully they will get back to me. I don't see any section for MB listed though so I dunno if they work with MB's.

On my car I always smell a slight scent of anti freeze from under the hood but I can't seem to find any leaks, no spots under the car either. Hopefully a stone has not hit something already and caused a tiny leak. I should get it checked out I guess at the dealer, I can't find anything with it.

These parts are not sale, but you can make them Independently, as we did. You can buy nets and connect with oem parts. For example for me all this work was done guys who are engaged in repair of plastic car bumpers.
Or just buy metal mesh and fix them on the clamps, as in the photo above.
