Any thoughts on the Head 2 Head released today?

Finally the video--- although biased, the reasons I have the E63S are also sections where it shined. I get why it didnt win (losing by 0.02 seconds) on BW but AWD, Launch, Skidpad, Exhaust Noise, Rolling speed, etc are reasons Im happy. With all that, the Caddy is a worthy competitor and its even more attractive when pricing is rolled in.
Edit, thanks BC-2 it was only .02 seconds LOL

Faster at the Lightning Lap or 0.2 sec. slower at Willow Springs, given the extra 500 lbs or so it's impressive.

Agree with all points above. But the other thing to consider is this:
GM may be covering up some major safety risk to save a few bucks of margin. The car is cheap for a reason. It's not like they have industry leading productivity and lower non Union labor costs like Lexus.
RWD in 600hp car is one major safety risk to start with. GMs collision mitigation features are very limited completed with Mercedes. The chassis is probably less rigid. And who knows if there is another ignition interlock like issue being hidden under the carpets.

2nd gen CTSV just didn't age all that well, inside or out, and I have thoughts the 3rd gen is going down the same road.
Performance rivals for sure, but the E63 is truly in another style league.

I thought the new year CTSV had not changed since 2016 but if you look at the lap times posted in the video the new car was significantly faster than the 2016 V. I wonder if GM sent a ringer in for the test. I owned a 2016 V, great car but didn’t quite fit my needs.

I have no firsthand knowledge other than whats reported in the mags and that shows no performance changes, just cosmetics, rear camera and infotainment...

Talking about ringers...you know the E63s actually makes 650-700hp right out the gate right?
124-125 mph quarter mile with 4500-4700lbs......

You would caught me dead in an American made car (at least for the time being), regardless the brand (BMW, MB, etc included) but they make 2 good points, weight and breaks and maybe a 3rd point suspension. The 18 wagon with CCBs (although the similar rotors) does not break as well/predictable as the 16, and although a slightly better AWD, the car still understeers a lot specially in entry and exit.
Still would buy the 18AMG any day over the Cadi.

Let's see the video because I don't see it or feel it in the canyons.
Let's see a real test on the cars handling. How about they paint a line down the track surface making a 12' wide lane and then see which car can stay in it's lane at speed, ya know kinda like the real world, because that's what really matters.
The Caddy won't have a prayer coming close to the awd of the E63s

2018 E63S AMG
I thought most reviewers were reporting that when you pick up the throttle the mild understeer went away as the drive shifts to the front tires. Looking forward to getting the car back and seeing for myself. Now looks like the end of next week
Also looking forward to the AMG Driving Academy in April.
