If I took a Brillo Pad to my Cardinal Red car it would just like that I better shut up I guess, I may have you guys tune me at some point I'm not to far in Newport RI. How much do you charge for a Stage 1 tune and would that get me right around 11 seconds or so in the quarter mile? A shade under 11 would be even better

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat! After all the crap you gave me... no, I shall take the moral highground and say nothing.... well, nothing more than implying that I'm saying something... ahhahaha!
PS: getting under 11 seconds isn't a tune solution, just a weight reduction--empty the trunk and you'll be unbelievably close.

Thats in trend now to change the things you say from day to day It would be just a stage one so I think the plugs would not have be changed out frequently like more of a radical tune and it would not be too hard on the engine.

I'm still really just playing around with the idea. Heres one thing that bothers me. Say I do sell my car in 3 years, I don't feel it's right to sell the car and not disclose there is tune on the car and if you do that you may loose the sale. A lot of people just remove the tune or leave it and sell the car without telling the buyer. I just don't think that is the honest thing to do. Plus my car runs so good as it is I'm pretty happy with it. So I dunno, gotta give it a lot of thought. The other thing is I can't really use race start with my hand controls so I'm gonna be loosing what like 3/10's of a second right there in the quarter mile. I'd be lucky to run like an 11.6 or so with good DA. Lot's to think about.

Understood--and you totally shouldn't do it if you're not comfortable... you can't undo it by your criteria (i.e. removing it isn't the same as it never being there) so it's a one-way street.
As you know, I switch in and out of cars roughly annually. In every single case where I've traded the car directly with its next owner (7 times), I've advertised it with the tune and sold it (largely entirely or at least in part) because of it. The only car I got out of without the tune was the RS7 (since it went through an intermediary foreign-brand dealership). Even then, I eventually met the guy that ultimately bought it and he went and put the tune back on after I explained how and how cheap. My point is, most owners of our kind of cars value the extra power--your position defaults to it being a negative thing; I think(hope?) most see it the other way around.

All that said, how do the hand controls work?
Yup I agree 100%. I've pretty much tuned all my cars and sold most online (Ebay, Autotrader). I personally feel my cars sold faster (all mods were always in black and white) than similar cars that were stock. I probably didn't get the money back that I spent on tunes/mods but my cars probably sold a lot faster due to the upgrades. Also, in the past few years, I traded in 2 cars (with tunes) to 2 different dealerships; a MB dealer and an Audi dealer. In the negotiating process, I was upfront with both dealers about the tunes and neither dealer had a problem with it. The Audi dealer actually seemed more interested in my car after I mentioned the APR upgrades. The salesperson at the MB dealer simply asked a couple of questions, I answered, and it was never mentioned again; deal was done, both happy, no issues.
Interesting, maybe I'm just too paranoid about Tunes.
The Handcontrols work great, they are a very basic pair and nothing fancy but I've got very use to them from using them for so long. I use to use more fancy types like a twist one like a motorcycle which required vacuum assist from the engine. I got tired of those though as sometimes the cable would break and they were very tricky to install. These controls I use now install in about 3 minutes and can be put in most any car as long as it's a automatic. The thing I need to work on with them is holding the brake while full throttle for the Race Start. Have not done one race start yet and the car is at 9000 miles.
