Order delays?
I placed an order in early October, dealer told me end of January for delivery. Heard from him last week saying my order is "locked" but there's a "shortage of engines" from AMG and there's no update on when the car will be made or shipped. As I'm coming up on the end of my lease, I'm a bit concerned. Has anyone else heard a story like this?

go fast grocery getter wagon
lots of members here are in the same boat as you, as a result of unexplained or shortage of parts reasons or other technical problems. I too was kept in the dark too of my car and mine was delayed for nearly 6 weeks from production and instead of delivery of end of October, I eventually got mine in late December.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I heard they are offering to put a VW TDI in motor in place of the 4.0 motor if the customer is ok with that. early April fools joke haha. Ya, it seems like they are always running out of stuff, not sure why. I think thats why I did not get the NFC Charging and instead a cigarette lighter and ashtray.. They must have run short on the NFC chargers or something. Well maybe waiting is not a bad thing, seems like the software keeps getting more and more improved and by next Spring will more than likely be a new version that is even better.

I just placed an order (wagon, metallic gray / night / carbon trim / sports seats in nut brown / CCBs) and now getting nervous if you haven't gotten an allocation in TWO months. I was expecting an allocation by the end of the month and delivery by the summer...
Feel free to PM me if you want to keep details more private.

Here in Norway the allocation is actually ready within hours. In some cases they can change the actual production date if this is possible to have the car ready even earlier..
I would believe that MB in your contry has the same function available..

I was going to originally order my e63 through my dealer. I got on the dealer’s waiting list in June—there were 2 ahead of me. Two months later only one allocation had been received, and that for a January delivery. Frustrated, I opted for a European delivery, which I could pick up in December. As I described in another post, I received an email two days before I was scheduled to leave, alerting me that my car was subject to a quality hold and would likely not be available for delivery on the appointed day. I cancelled my trip, but never received any explanation as to what the issue was. [Some have speculated that there was a problem with the brakes.] My car was eventually shipped on December 22 and is now scheduled to arrive in port on January 20. Hopefully, I’ll get the car sometime in February, still earlier than would have been the case waiting for an allocation. I sure hope this car is worth it.

It's confirmed from Mercedes-Benz that there are problems with steel brakes on E63S and that this has led to delays.

My car was still in a hold-up in Sindelfingen yesterday.. Several hours after the scheduled release-time..
I'm starting to get fed up by MB at the moment.. Wondering if I should order a M5..

Personally, I don't mind if they take their time. I want my car made right, not quickly.

A part of my issue is that I don't have any other car..
My 211 is stuck on the main land and will continue to be there, I ordered a new car up here because I actually need a car.. It doesn't help me **** that the car is done right as long as they are unable to deliver it..
The car should have been delivered november 30 2017 according to our contract.

They had no answer for me today, so I sent a notification of my intention to cancel the deal if they don't deliver the car with the boat from the mainland february 16.

I ordered my 2018 E63S on July 7, 2017. First estimate was I'd get it Sept / Oct. In Sept they said the big screens they use in dash were backordered and that was the delay. They finally said my build date was the first ten days in Dec. Dec came and they didn't have an explanation as to why it didn't do into production. Than they said Jan 20 build date. I emailed dealer to make sure it really did and they informed my yesterday that all E63's are on manufacturing hold for some issue but didn't disclose. This whole process doesn't sound like fine German engineering to me.
This will be my first Mercedes. So far it's been a lame experience. I'm still very excited to get the car but what's the point of assigning build dates and green, orange, red decoder ring for everything and then just blow all the dates time and again?
