E63S ED1 Tuned + Wheels, new A45S on its way

No rubbing

I bought the EBay module having already lowered the car with links, I have a E63S W213 ED1, the links ended up giving the car a bad harsh ride. I left them on and installed the module and went to custom and raised the car 10mm front and rear. I started at 5mm and almost no increase in ride height so it must have been close to or on the bump stops. When I raised the car to 10mm I could hear the air going into the suspension and the car raised itself slightly. The ride difference is now night and day better.

I have fitted 21" wheels to my car and fitted some catless downpipes and fitted an Akrapovic exhaust. The ECU has also been tuned. I am getting 523KW (704 HP) at the wheels on the dyno and 960nm torque. I love this car.

The service from the lowering module seller was great, so glad I did not waste money on the Renntech module.

I must be speaking Chinese that I am broadcasting offers to help people lower their vehicles with just the purchase of a $30 DIY USB -> CAN adapter, but they'd rather spend $500 on a practically "one time use" eBay module instead.

I guess that's just good user feedback. W213 E63S AMG owners aren't interesting in piddlefarting with DIY if they can just spend an extra $470 and be done with it and I should shut up.

So what would I buy and how do I go about programming it? Would it be possible for it to raise to the OEM rise height no matter what base ride height I select?

LOL! I would have, but I bought my module long ago, unfortunately!

I'm interested in the CAN bus tools, but lowering my car is not one of my goals.

Eventually a tune, maybe, but my near term goal would be to enable the intelligent headlights to operate at their full potential.

For those that have lowered - have you noticed any increase of tire wear or uneven wear?

Those that say they don't have any wear issues aren't driving very much.

If you don't install camber adjustable front upper control arms you will just wear the inside 1.5"/sidewall edge of your front tires in a few thousand miles.
This arm was able to bring the negative camber from -2.9 to -1.6 lowered.
Fact but there is only one company I know of that makes this arm, F1 Fabrication.

If you lower your car you will get into the negative camber issue. Front tires will suffer the most. There is only one fix for this.

Say I lower 20mm. Is there enough adjustability in the stock alignment settings to get back in spec? Or would I need the arms?

Well you must have the magic tire option and maybe lowered has changed it's meaning across the pond because three sets of front tires in 14,000 miles tells the truth..

You'll just create more negative camber than the already factory setting of -1.9 camber.

I will be pulling off the custom upper arms on my E63s wagon with OEM rubber bushings soon in order to replace them with a set that will let me dial out even more negative camber.
I want to see how it will be going from my now -1.6 to -1.2 so I'm having another set made with OEM rubber bushings.
I could make you a great deal on my current set which would be perfect for a 20mm drop if interested..

As best I can determine, the Renntech module defaults to a .85"/F .75"R drop which is a long way from your drop (almost twice that?).

I may take you up on that. I'm interested to see what you eventually come up with as a cause in your other thread about the front wear.
