As stated above I am looking to buy one or go with lowering links. Anyone here with feedback on the renntech hand held suspension module? If I go with lowering links, where can I purchase?

I have one, its cool it does what I need it to do. Its expensive, links are definitely cheaper but being able to change your height in like two minutes is cool and it take like two seconds to install. So yea I like it, not like anyone is pinching pennies after spending 100k on a car.

Love it. The stock lowering settings were a little too low for me at .85 inch front and .75 rear. Very easy to change on computer, went .7 all around and sits great and no driving issues. Keep module in car so you can switch back to stock height in a few seconds if you need to. I like the fact that there is no physical changes to car.

@vic55 had a smarter approach to lowering the car. You should have a look at that before going with this module. He used neither lowering links nor the module.

Gentlemen, thank you for all the feedback, I went ahead with the order of a renntech tune and lowering module at the same time, will definitely post my thoughts after installed.

That Amazon unit looks good, think I will go with that. I'm hoping I can do both cars I have with it? I have a 2015 S550 and a 2018 E63 AMG. Does anyone know if this unit locks into the vin and you can only do that one car like the Renntech? Thats one thing I hate about the Renntech. If I can do both cars with this unit I will definitely buy it.

Damm, I just emailed the buy at the company from the one on Amazon and he said of course it locks into the vin number. So I think this means if you got rid of the car this thing would have to go with the car or be useless, so I dunno if I'm gonna buy one now, not crazy about that idea, for both my cars I'd have to buy 2 units.

Not sure if that is the case or not, but you really can't blame them. They are trying to run a business, and how else do you sell more product?? I would buy one, try it out on the car you most want lowered, and then try it on the second car. Even if you have to buy two of them, they are well worth the $, especially compared to the competitors.

So your saying if I put the car back to stock I can use it on the other car? If that’s the case if I didn’t like the unit I could always sell it used I guess. I thought once it was locked into the car that’s the only car the unit would work with? Sounds like maybe I’m wrong.

No, I'm not sure whether or not it locks to one VIN or not. I'm saying that if you want to lower both of your cars, I would buy at least one, use it on the car you most want lowered first. Then try it on your second car to see if it works or not. The only way you will not like the product is if you decide you like your ride height at factory height. Otherwise, the unit works well to custom adjust the height.

I forgot to add that you do not have to have the unit attached to your car to retain the ride height at the height you set. You can remove it from the port, and the height stays at what you set it at.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure when the car is programmed back to stock with the unit it can then be used on another car. I do remember a guy on the forums selling one of these used a while back.

I'll email the company though again just to be sure. If this is the case like I said if I do not like it or sell the car I could sell it used on ebay or something and get some money back on it. I use to do that with the hand held super chip tuners I use to use when I drove Pontiac G8 GT's. Had a couple of those cars, they were actually pretty awesome cars for the money, to bad it all went to hell when they came out with the SS, those were too much money.

I guess this thing is a boat anchor if you sell the car, it can only be used on that one car you linked it with originally, that is a no go for me. Just got a email from the company.

so are there any other options then that are better? I've ended up with plenty of boat anchors after selling cars, but at 400 bones I'd pass on that. Isn't there a lowering module on EBay? Is it better or worse? Thanks

Not sure if this one on ebay is the same one I posted on Amazon. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-BE...IAAOSwV5law-kg I do remember a guy posted a used one for sale that he'd got on ebay, so maybe this one can be used on different cars when deprogrammed from the current car, not sure, best thing is if your interested email to the ebay seller. I think I'm going forget about lowering my car, my life is complicated enough as it is.

I believe they are the same seller. When you think about it, $400 to lower your +$110,000 auto is not very much, especially considering that you can custom adjust the ride height to your liking very easily, and considering the cost to lower other non-air system autos. You would generally have to replace the springs or have coil-overs like the M5. Way way more expensive, and much more of a hassle.

These modules are not too costly over your time period of ownership if you prefer the lowered stance. IMHO of course!

$400 is cheap, labor alone to swap out springs is double this and just think you can change your ride height based on what mood your in each day.

I first did the Benzworks sensor adjustment to lower my car but after I had a front air spring go bad and brought it back to the dealership for the warrantee work they needed to set it to stock ride height before they would touch the car.
After the car was fixed I picked up the Ebay module and in one minute I was back to my lowered ride height..

But remember you need to adjust your alignment for the lowered ride height. I think I may have found the perfect solution for the same price of the CRAP K-mac bushings, stay tuned

do you notice any everyday ride quality degradation once you lowered it?
