Direct wiring radar detector and/or dashcam?
Volume control is used to program the radar features while in the radar menu, but once you exit the radar menu, volume control returns so you can control your audio. If the radar triggers, you can use the mute feature on the steering wheel to silence the alert (and not alter the audio volume). Curious how this works in practicality.
If you go with the Escort Max product with front and back, you can select the directional arrows (or designation) as part of the radar displays (so you get the benefit of knowing where the alert comes from).
I have the 9500 integrated in another car. Works great - but many false alerts from car tech (back-up cameras, ACC, etc.). End up hitting mute quite often. Hopefully the new Escort feature limits the false alerts.
I can't see a lot of downside going this route (unless you don't want to spend the $). I can't stand seeing wires and things dangling from the window.

I did a fair bit of research on this detector and spoke with some users. The general consensus is that this is the best detector in terms of filtering out false alerts from car tech. It also has the best range. The detector is digital so they are able to do more to filter out falses from vehicles than with traditional analog detectors. Also Escort stopped developing the 9500 so they didn’t bother to install any filters for BSM/ACC.
BTW for others reading this - do not buy the 9500ci. It is end-of-life and obsolete. It won’t jam modern lidar guns. It picks up blindspot and adaptive cruise control radar. This make it pretty bad. Escort is replacing the 9500ci with the iX CI which is a new entry level installed detector priced at $1500 which will sit a notch below the Max CI360 in the line up. The iX CI is an analog detector, and its false filtering is comparable to escort’s newer windshield units like the Max360c but it won’t be on the same level as the Max CI360.
I’m looking forward to it. I have the Net Radar in my Porsche and I don’t really like that at all. If this works out, I will probably also change the radar on the Porsche. Midcity has an integration kit for Porsche too.

He has the same NFC/Qi wireless charging as my car, where replaces the cigarette lighter plug in the front part of the center console, so I know he wasn't plugging it in there.
I looked around and haven't found anything on the passenger side of the car up front. I'm wondering if maybe he just used an extension cable to get to the plug in the rear of the center console and it just looked like he was plugging it in up front.
Anyway, figured I'd ask and see if anyone has noticed a second cigarette lighter plug up front.

Does anyone know how to pull of the pillars and pull down the roof to run wires behind?
I dont want to break anything
Options with the Escort include:
Front radar only ($2000)
Front and rear radar ($2500)
Front radar and 2 laser jammers ($2500)
Front and rear radar and 4 laser jammers ($3500)
Front and rear radar and 6 laser jammers ($4350)
Midcity Engineering integration with factory controls ($450)
I am getting front and rear radar and 6 laser jammers plus the mid city engineering integration package (which gives you integration with steering wheel controls, instrument cluster and HUD). So my total package with installation will be $5k plus tax.

could you you send pictures of the mounting points they used for the jammers. I can’t figure out where to mount them the way the diffuser is shaped

Are there any other 12V outlets?

i assume the DC outlet is still there for the rear seat passengers even if the AC outlet wasn’t ordered.
thank you so much for the placement. Did they have to drill into that plastic piece to pass the cables though or were they able to squeeze them behind it. That’s where I was thinking of getting them installed just didn’t know how complicated I was going to be to get the wires through the plastic without making it look bad.

This morning some SD county motorcycle cops were doing speed enforcement near my house. I live on a hill so the speeds tend to exceed the limit at the bottom of my street unless people ride the brakes. The other problem we have is that when the light changes people will blow through it sometimes a couple seconds after the light has changed green for cross traffic. We warn all our guests to be really careful when leaving. Because of this, we really don’t mind too much when they’re out there doing enforcement.
Rather than drive around waiting to see if they would laser me in traffic, I just went down there and asked if they would do it. One of the officers said sure

So I pulled out the car and he lit me up and the unit beeped as it should.
My worry was that with the acoustic package and infrared sun options on the car that I might see some blockage in the windshield where I mounted the R3.
Now I know I’m OK.
May eventually invest in a laser jammer, but for now this will have to do me as I’m typically driving more or less within the limits around town.

I was parked about a hundred feet from the officer on my street, past the point where it becomes a private drive. So little risk of being cited.
Now I am very careful every morning to hold it to the limit in the area where I know they are enforcing. I try to not accelerate too hard on a cold motor, but even then it is easy to exceed the 45 MPH limit before I get to their favorite spot.
